Title: Christmas Music
Post by: warthog-driver on December 19, 2009, 11:06:06 PM
Is it just me or does anyone else have a problem with Barbra Streisand? Mrs Warthog is baking and she put in a Streisand Christmas CD. I immediately replaced Comrade Barbra with Der Bingle (Gonzaga 1924.) I rank listening to Streisand sing with watching Hanoi Jane Fonda act.

She has a good voice. No hating on her. Just your preference.

But I find William Hung's Christmas album much, much, much more offensive.
But that's my preference. ;)

Another reason why warthog is one of my new favorite posters. Not only does he despise the obscenely annoying and ugly Streisand, he replaces her with the legend himself...BING CROSBY!!

Striesland is a great singer, but remember when she opens her mouth to do other than singing, her initials come out "BS"

Nothing is cooler than Dean Martin singing about "Rudie the red beaked reindeer."  That just drips of coolness.

Agree with Warthog on Babs and Deano is OK, but for Christmas music there is nothing cooler than Louis Armstrong and his rendition of "Cool Yule."

I try, as best I can, to separate the artist from the art.

However, in the case of "babs", its way too much to ask.  What a complete and utter idiot.

I'm with WD on this, but imagine getting ganged up on by your spouse AND daughter and having to endure Clay Aiken!

there are only two albums you need.   Vince Guaraldi Trio doing the Charlie Brown Christmas Album and Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song.  There are no other albums needed.

Nothing beats the Rat Pack Christmas but Vince Guaraldi's Charlie Brown Christmas is a close second

My kids spent the two weeks before Christmas repeatably playing Dean Martin & Frank Sinatra's Marshmallow World off the Rat Pack Christmas CD.  I love the song and especially the banter at the end and there's no overplaying the Ratpack, but my kids were strangely pushing the envelope on this one.
