I think last night went a long way towards separating the pretenders from the contenders for the BE championship. As many thought at the start of the year, it will come down to us, G-Town and Pitt. I was surprised at the start of the season when G-Town lost several games, but watching them play lately has been scary as they clearly have hit their strife and are well-coached. Meanwhile, the development of Barro has made us a more dangerous team than I thought we would be when the season began. Meanwhile, Pitt has just been winning all year long.
Saturdays game will go a long way towards determining who will the conference. What's just as interesting is who will finish 4th and get the 4th bye in the BE tournament. Without looking at the remaining schedules, my guess is ND with Villanova as my sleeper.
agree wholeheartedly. there is a two loss difference between 3rd and 4th, and only a 2 loss difference between 4th and 12th. i also agree that ND or Nova will be the 4th seed. they have the easiest schedules remaining...
Disagree about Nova. It's gonna take 10-6 to get that 4th seed and NOva is 4-5. Don't see them going 6-1 the rest of the way, even with their relatively easy schedule (remember, MU and Georgetown are on that schedule, and at UConn on 2/28 is not a guarantee, though they should win). I think West Virginia and ND duke it out for 4, with Louisville, Providence and Nova in a free for all for places 6-8.
I think Pitt wins the league and the winner Saturday will finish 2nd. Too bad we get Georgetown on the road this season. I think the home team regardless of who it is wins this game 3 out of 4.
Aside from Pitt and Georgtown, who would you least like to face in the GE tourney. Even though they're 4-6, UConn scares me. There's so much talent there, and because they are young, they're improving quickly and are better now than when we played them and will be better by tourney time. I'm also in no hurry to play Providence again.
i would not like to play louisville again, especially if we beat them at home. teams rarely, if ever, beat a team 3 times in a season. plus they always play hard against us...

nova has already won AT g'town. they will be favored in all of their remaining games except for against us...
I think the team I would most like to see is St. Johns as we haven't played them this year and I don't think their as good as some of the others. But all of the teams scare me to a certain extent, even DePaul which has underachieved. L-ville looked terrible last night.
