Title: recruiting
Post by: jefffla01 on December 15, 2009, 09:31:51 AM
With Maymon leaving another scholie becomes available for next year. With an already solid class for 2010 MU has a chance to make this a top 10 class with another solid recruit.
Sometimes after a lightning bolt simmers, we can evaluate and come up with positives.
If this kid wasnt happy with the pt already after only 10 games played, he could have developed into a major problem down the road.
I dont know what Buzz promised this kid and his father. That being said, lets just move on and focus on finding another solid player.
I hope Maymon learns from this and matures as a person. Ive had a lot of bosses promise me a rose garden during my life, only to be disappointed by their deceipt. Jeronne---its a fact of life that not every promise comes to fruition. Your work and peformance will lead you to fulfilling your own expectations.

Only problem is that there are hardly any/none solid recruits left, they have all commited.  As in previous posts, Buzz can either go the JUCO route for a PF/C or wait for any possible transfers, as what just occurred here with Maymon.  But the 2010 class has four incoming freshman, so they may want to balance it outsome how going the JUCO route.  You can never tell what is going on with this staff.  Its one thing after another, month by month, highs and lows.

This story is not over, lets not jump to conclusions and write him off. I understand the feelings about Tim Maymon and I don't know him at all and therefore will take him at his word that he doesn't know what has happened.

Lets wait to hear more about this, I believe MU plans on announcing more on Thursday is what I've heard.

Jamil Wilson as a midseason xfer from Oregon (to beat the old drum).

Oregon is 4-4 on the season with their coach, Ernie Kent, on the hot seat.  That may not be the situation that he thought he was going into with the PAC-10 being as bad as it's been in 20 years.

I live in MN, that guy is a complete moron.  He went to 3 different High schools, got caught shop lifting at Mall of America and the wrestled the security gaurd to the ground.  I think he was also caught stealing computers out of dorm rooms.

That said I guess he's an amazing player.

Hah.. I agree.  I'm in Minneapolis.  He has been fingered as a suspect in the theft of a girl's laptop from a dorm... no charges as of yet... the MoA deal: he pled to the shoplifting and pleased down the a disorderly conduct on the assault charge.. in other words, not a huge deal legally, but I'm 90% certain he'll never play for the Gophers.  I think he'll head off somewhere after this semester.

If you haven't watched his recent YouTube videos, save yourself the time and don't.    Weird dude, hope he gets on the court somewhere and shapens up in his non-basketball parts of life.

Remember that when the coaching carousel begins there could be a few 4 and 5 stars that want out of their LOI's
