Title: MU bars in Vegas
Post by: Doctor V on December 11, 2009, 11:43:02 PM
Question for any Las Vegas residents- I just moved out here and have searched, but not found any Marquette bars....

Are there any? If so, which one?  If not, do any locals wanna pick one to go watch some of the games? It would be nice to meet some alums

welcome to vegas...

over/under is 2.5 years for educated midwest people in their 20s... enjoy it while it lasts.  I'm going on 4 yrs, but I'm not there too often...probably doesn't count.

Sent you a pm... no MU bars that I know of, but I'm up for catching a game somewhere.

Have you guys heard about the new Tiger movie coming out.  It's called "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Fire Hydrant"!

Don't know of any Marquette bars, but there is a Wisconsin/Packer bar called the Field House on Rancho out by Santa Fe Station.

The bar on Rancho Dr. in Vegas is called the Draft House.  It was owned by a former Badger RB from the sixties until he passed away a few years ago.  They fly in perch and walleye from Wisconsin for Friday night fish fries and have Johnsonville brats on the menu.  When you walk in you would think you are at a bar and grill in Wisconsin.

Let me know if you guys wanna meet up sometime, maybe we can adopt one as our own MU bar

We can head to Tao for the after party, if uchitel lets us in :)

I'm also a Bears fan and the best one in LV is La Piazza... it's connected to a Ramada just north of downtown, 1000 N Main St.  Great hole in the wall type atmosphere, but usually pretty packed with Chicago people.  I watched the Bears-Niners debacle there a few weeks ago, and they raffled off some Bears gear (albeit knockoff I think).  Great scene for Bears fans in Vegas.  Unfortunately I'm in the Chicago burbs for the Bears-Packers game tomorrow.

Another decent Bears bar is near Santa Fe Station on Rancho or Craig... can't think of the name though.

La Piazza though ftw.
