LOL
Great game....I've been out of town the last two days but caught the updates on the cell phone and via Facebook. Finally got a chance to watch them tonight on DVR. Actually felt like we played better against Xavier in some ways. Maybe it's because I watched the games in reverse (Michigan first, Xavier second).
Very unselfish team. Thrilled thrilled thrilled with the Senior leadership and the play of the two juniors. I'd say Acker and Cubillan are going to be ok, despite some saying they aren't worthy of the Big East...they're certainly not dominating, but can get the job done. Odom-Johnson is very confident. Buycks had his moments of good and bad, but mostly good. Maymon....he's the one I can't figure out just yet. Not sure if it's lethargic or if it's just the way he plays, hopefully he can get a little more energy going.
Buzz did a wonderful job. Old Spice commercials may be the dumbest commercials I've ever seen.
I was surprised at how awful Michigan was behind the arc, that really killed them. They have two really nice players, however.
FSU is very tall.
If we win, do we hang a banner? ;)
When we hang a banner in the Bradley Center beside our National Championship banner and our Final Four banners, I suggest we specify "#15 Michigan" in our list of victims.
I've always been slightly amused by the win over "#8 Duke" from the Great Alaskan Shootout a few years ago. None of the other banners up there have a rank by the opponents, nor should they.
Amazing rebuilding effort. Cant wait until the buzz plan is in full effect with 12-15 actionable players

It's still early, but so far so good. Looks like the cupboard wasn't totally bare either. ;)
Besides, what would 15 actionable players do for us.....scholarship limit is 13. ;D

This is nothing less than a cynical attack on our former coach. As you know, we are observing a moratorium on such posts. Have you no shame? Have you no shame?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the banners have been taken down. I think it is just the National Championship, the two final fours and the NIT championship. I might be missing one, but I think the pre-season tourney ones are not up there anymore.

I think you are correct, but I also thought they remained in the Al McGurie Center...is that not correct any longer?
Those banners you speak of were last seen at the 7 Mile Fair. A short, arrogant dude with an electric beach tan, bad haircut, and extra long tie was observed trying to barter for them by offering DWade, Diener, and Novak autographed IU gym shorts.
hijack.

Are they hanging from the rafters of Assembly Hall?

Not quite.
No one has mentioned "he who shall not be named" yet. ;)
Oh Strongbad, now that brings back memories. And you guys are right, the preseason banners have been taken down.

My days of boredom have been reunited with an old time filler. There are more new ones too!

Chicos - Our sophomore guard's name is Darius Johnson-Odom. That's why they call him DJO. :)

They might be in the building, but they're not in the arena.

Uh, no it's not. Perhaps you haven't been paying attention over the years. It's a question to the people who constantly derided the banners MU put up, that many believed weren't big enough accomplishments to honor.
Generally speaking, most who hated the banners also hated Crean. The question is a good one. Was it Crean they hated, or the banners? Will they be consistent anti-bannerites, or soften, now that Buzz is their savior?
(oh, wait .. warthog .. was your post facetious? If so, never mind.)
I'm all for meaningful banners. They have their place. Crean's banners were just another tool in his elementary arsenal of hype. Constantly looking for ways to draw attention to himself. What I always said was he sold sizzle without much steak. Didn't take people long before they were on to his shtick.
That's one opinion. The other is that those banners meant to honor the accomplishment of some 20 year old kids who went out and got some hardware against tough competition. It may have been more sizzle than steak, but I'll piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would motivate young men to practice and play like champions.
For the record, I think beating Xavier, Michigan, and FSU would be a damn meaningful accomplishment, especially in light of the expectations.

As I recall, there was a nifty #6 next to Duke's name on the CBE banner as well. Agreed that it's unnecessary as rankings at the time mean diddly, especially in November.

Tremendous amounts of beverages were consumed last evening my friend. I'm lucky I didn't call him Johnson & Johnson.

I was talking to someone yesterday who could only call him "that guy with two names".
Imagine Johnson-Odom marrying a girl with a hyphenated last name such as Martin-Utter. If she insisted on keeping her last name, their children would never forgive her for being known as little MOFUs.
