Are you kidding me? He is just lost out there... Come on Ousmon looked better... Could someone teach him like one single post move? Everytime he got the balll he passed right away... Nonetheless dwight was grabbing rebounds over our 'yous-less' 7'2" "Big"... How awful...
Sounds like someone's expectations are a bit elevated for Yous. No one said he was going to come in and tear it up. You can teach post moves. You can teach rebounding. You can't teach 7'2".
Give it time... after all, he doesn't look much worse than Otule did last year, and look how much Chris had developed in the past year.
Look how much he's developed?? He's been hurt during more games than minutes he played... If by developed you mean hurt and still a 2 star then yes... he's real developed... Chris got 25 minutes this whole year in 3 games... You can't see any development in that little playing time... Come on. And you're right you can't teach 7'3" but you can teach putting on about 30 pounds...
Jackass post. Any 7' 2" player that Buzz feels is good enough to give a scholarship and works hard/hustles is good with me. I don't think the thought was for him to be an impact player this year...
I'm thinking your opinions are "yous-less." When the kid stops working his tail off you can call him "yous-less."
Any the player buzz feels good enough? How about o'tule and joe fulce? You can say that won't be an impact player but you can say that there is a difference between impact and playable in the big east.... He should at least be playable... but just isn't yet...
Kid has played two games so far and you're calling him out? I don't have faith in his post moves right now so him passing out is the right thing to do. Just having a 7'2 guy on court will make people think twice about driving. He had a clean block today that he got called for a foul.
You're essentially comparing Mbao to Dwight and Ousmane in their senior year, since that's probably all you remember about them. They were both just as lost as 1st year as he is right now. Hopefully he weighs 245 next game since we can teach him how to gain 30 lbs. Worthless post....use your brain.
Yeah because 7' 2" Big East ready centers are a dime a dozen.

If he adds 25lbs, he's a superstar....you heard it here 2nd

No, now wait a minute! On the other board, the master of all things college hoops - the one, the only WarhawkMO - is calling the Yous experiment an unqualified success.
How dare you contradict the WarhawkMO! You are not worthy of his greatness!
I have a feeling the same types of posts came out after Ousmane played his 2nd game. Lets be honest, we all know he's not a future 1st Round NBA pick, but theres no way you can say he cannot develop to be a solid player in our rotation if he continues to work hard.
Concur but the WarhawkMO feels he is the second coming of Thabeet!
Have you forgotten how bad Ooze was his freshman year? I mean his hands were made of stone and he couldn't defend a guy in a wheel chair. Give the poor kid a break.
Patience young grasshopper. Yous will take time. He is a big and missed the first two games. Hell, look at how some of the other guys are progressing after just 4 games. I thought he passed well and once he figures it out defensively without the ticky tack fouls, he can help defend inside. Give it time man!
C'mon, the kid has played in a few games, give him a break. Taking this season as a rebuilding sort of year anyway, it'd be better to take all of his mistakes this year as things he will do better with next year. Yes, he's our only center, yes he looks lost and had 4 fouls in 12 minutes, no he cannot compete in the bigeast, but what are you going to do? Condemn him right away? He can only get better, and he will.
Ahh, our first drive-by trolling of the season!
The 6 post wonder calls out a freshman playing his second game. With "fans" like this, who needs enemies?
I hope ripping on Yous makes you feel better about yourself.
yeah but ous had merritt and robert jackson in front of him so he didn't need to show that he was playable... we kind of need mbao to be playable right now to finish top 12 in the big east

Agreed. The poor kid is taking heat through no fault of his own. Ideally he could gain experience this year in the seclusion of practice (mostly) and maybe pick up bits of game experience here and there. Given our complete absence of size, obviously the glare on him is far more intense than it should be. The fact the team needs him more isn't going to magically enhance his development. We best all take a deep breath, realize once again we will be severely undersized, and enjoy the talented , but small and inexperienced team we have this year. Better days to come.

You very clearly don't understand the concept of a project player. Maybe you should learn something about about where the kid is coming from and how long he's been playing the game before you go calling him useless. Maybe then you'd show some semblance of basketball knowledge instead of just looking like an idiot.

Neither one of those players was on the team when Ousmane came to MU. Jackson graduated in 2003, Merritt in 2004. Ousmane was a freshman the year after Merritt left.
Actually Rossknife we had less talent at the forward spot when ooze came in then now. Yous doesn't come to where you work and take the d*ck out of your mouth does he? then give the poor kid a break and enjoy watching him develop. If he turns out to be as good as ooze we should be pretty happy.
Mbao's basketball skills have progressed further than this guy's posting skills.

Your 3 posts in this thread are among the least informed, most unintelligent posts I have seen on this board this year.
Rossknife - Go back to the Badger Board. No Marquette fan in their right mind would make the type of post you did. Pretty much already been said but the only Yous-Less thing in this thread is your analysis, logic, and topic. Hope you enjoyed the rise you got out of real Marquette fans - probably the closest thing you can get to a rise as no woman in her right mind would give you any with the lack of intelligence you've just displayed.
The guy is jsut a troll. Very likely from II,II. They are getting cranky over there lately.
I think Rossknife is what they call a troll.
Waste of time to even read his posts.
I recall some of the posts about JB abut this time last year... ::)
I anticipate hitting the "ignore button" on Rossknife within five more posts.
If Rossknife was a good troll, he'd build up a more subtle post count with a little neutral MU commentary then blast MU's players. He'd last longer on the "ignore" count.
I saw good things out of Yous. I think that is what you have to look at after 2 games. He altered a couple shots, passed out of the high post (underrated skill), and worked hard.
OF COURSE THERE WILL BE NEGATIVES!
The strength will come, the skills will come (Someone earlier here said he looked robotic, true, but soon those robotic moves will become ingrained into his movements to the point he can do them without the thinking and the stiffness-fluid, spontaneous motion), and the instincts will come.
If you were expecting something great in two games, you're an idiot.
The team, as it is now, is not low post dominated. The play does not focus on the low post. So his "lack of moves" doesn't bother me one bit. If he stays out of foul trouble, gets that shot from the elbow going and continuous to pass out of there successfully, rebounds defensively and alters a few shot he will become a vital part of an MU team that will finish higher than 12th in the Big East.
As he got more time in there, he seemed to grow a little more in confidence. I think he'll be fine. When is another question.
He's gotta play with his hands up on D - which is where he got into foul trouble (kept reaching his hands down to the level of the player he was guarding) - and feel confident playing under the rim. One is coachable, the other will come with time.

totally ignorant post. you expect that just because he is now the only health 'big' on the team that his skill level automatically increases tenfold?
and if you are going to compare him past big men we have had and their development, at least try to show you have done some research
considering it is Thanksgiving though:
I'm thankful for Rossknife...i've been wanting to test out the ignore button.
