Game 4: South Dakota
Marquette University finished three assists short of a very special — and unusual — day on Saturday.
In leading the women’s basketball team to a 79-62 victory over Oakland in the afternoon, junior point guard Angel Robinson posted the first triple-double in program history with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
Then, just a few hours later, junior guard Dwight Buycks put up 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in an 87-41 victory over Grambling by the men’s basketball team. Just three more assists would have given the junior-college transfer the first triple-double for the Golden Eagles since Dwyane Wade accomplished the feat against Kentucky in the Elite Eight in 2003.
