Title: Poll: Least Favorite Recurring Scoop Thread
Post by: TallTitan34 on November 23, 2009, 12:09:38 PM
I know it is a time to be thankful but I was wondering what reoccurring Scoop thread people are not thankful for.  These topics never stop being posted and some threads even get hijacked into these topics.

If you don't see you least favorite above reply in the thread and I'll add it.

So which is your least favorite and why?

Redshirt using a scholarship is definitely number one, but it doesn't happen as frequently to beat out some of those heavy hitters.

I'm also a big fan of " Under 100 Posts Member Starting a Thread About His Thoughts On the ______ Game."

Haha that's a good one.  I added it to the poll.

I had to go with redshirt using scholarship.  In nearly every single thread about redshirting a player someone always asks if it counts as a scholarship.

"we can't land a big man"

makes me want to puke everytime I read it.

There are some great choices on this poll!

I had to go with the number of times a person posts making them any more/less of a contributor. Who cares how many posts a person has?

Because it's generally a very invalid point.

Chuck Norris already had this poll.

/actually I (usually) enjoy it when the the threads go off in this direction

I feel like it goes both ways.  Sometimes a person will have a good post but it's discounted because of low posts.  Sometimes though it is something dumb like "Ousmane Barro sucks" and nothing else.

Can we add Tall Titan to the list?   ;D

Anything dealing with Tom Crean is annoying, lets stop the comparison's between what Buzz is doing and what Crean is doing

While I don't believe I am a reoccurring thread I'll add it!

I guess this wouldn't count as a scoop thread, but more of a common occurance/theme.  My least favorite theme are the few people who post snide (I'm smarter than you) comments and responses to thoughtful posts/threads  in an anonymous MUScoop setting.
What ever happened to good old fashioned back alley, Irish knife fights?
I'm sure this message will open a floodgate of the aforementioned comments.
By the way, polls and Tall Titan are my favorite reoccurring Scoop threads.

Any thread filled with awful grammar and spelling by people who supposedly went to or currently attend Marquette University.

For example, titles that include words such as 'reoccurring'.

If TallTitan34 changes the subject of this post to, "...Recurring...", then I vote for 'threads filled with awful grammar'... if TallTitan34 does not change the subject of this post, I will vote for TallTitan.

I added since I know it bothers you.  75% of your posts are about correcting grammar.

By the way your first sentence is actually a fragment.  :P

Doesn't "Chicos vs. Hayward" really include the following poll selections:

Anything Tom Crean
Non-Conference Strength Of Schedule
Can't Recruit A Big Man
Snide Comments
Poor Grammar
TallTitan34 (he makes an appearance...usually)

I voted Crean because that topic infiltrates anything and everything.  But really, my least favorite recurring threads are "Player X is injured" and "Solid MU team has respectable season ending before the Sweet 16" - which are often directly connected.

Quote"Player X is injured"

This has got to be this years worst, especially checking scoop this morning and seeing that our most improved player per Buzz is out for the season.

My write-in vote has to go to the threads whining about low attendance during the cupcake non-conf schedule, winter break and Finals week.  They happen entirely too often every year.

Any thread where people use teal to cover their lack of ability to express themselves using, you know, the English language.

Spelling our players names wrong is upsetting as well.

I know he looks like a prototypical Irish guy so it's probably tough for some people to figure out, but EFF do I hate when people talk about "O'Tule".

I know Ousmane Barro

Can't  Anything with Tom Crean and Can't recruit a big man be combined? Those always go hand in hand.

Lots of good choices but the most annoying for me is the assumption that the numbers of posts somehow validates or negates someone's opinion.

I hate, more than anything, people creating threads mid-game ripping MU players calling them pathetic and worthless.

how about entire threads started by people who are basically just trying to say "i told you so"...?
