Title: Former MU recruit starting for Villanova
Post by: tower912 on November 23, 2009, 06:13:53 AM
Maurice Sutton.    He didn't look like a worldbeater against Old Miss, but he looked like a serviceable big who will get better.    More mobile than Otule.    Would probably be starting here, too.

He only started because freshman Mouphtaou Yarou left San Juan due to illness.

From what i saw Sutton was no better or worse than Otule.  Listed as a Freshman 'Nova had the luxury of redshirting him for a year to get stronger and develop.  He looks to be a player that will be a good solid big by the time he is a junior or senior.  More importantly and waht seems to be lost on people was that his being good right now is not crucial.  for they have a player in Antonio Pena that after virtually zero playing time as a freshamn and then underwhelming everyone as a sophomore has now in his junior year started to develop into a player.  Folks we have no junior or senior bigs.  it is a 4 year fix.  players like pena, sutton, otule and mbao are essentially worthless as freshamn and sophomore but turn out pretty solid by there last 2 years.
