Title: Temple v. Georgetown
Post by: copious1218 on November 17, 2009, 04:16:22 PM
Georgetown was winning 19-13 at HALF.  I didn't get a chance to see it, so I'm not sure if there was some stellar defense or some awful offense, but 19 at half has to be disappointing against Temple.

saw it, combination of terrible shooting on both sides and good defense i thought.  monroe seemed to spend a lot of time outside the arch as well

Well now it is 34-33 (Temple), with 10 min left.  They better stop worry about the inept 1st half performance.  Where is HoyasSinceBirth I would assume he is watching and could provide some more detailed insight.

Very good game actually. Temple up 2 with 4 minutes left.

I wanna cheer for an upset but it would probably be better for gtown to rep the big east

I never understood why everyone was loving GTown this year, I don't see the talent to rank them in the top 25 even.

Monroe traveled before he made his move on that layup

Temple's FT shooting is what will cost them if they lose this one. 6-13 from the line.

i had a terrible flashback watching Monroe go to the basket without anyone stepping in.

I'll leave it at that.

Everyone loved them last year too.  You'd think last season might have given people a clue.

If they are the 20th best team in the country its going to be a very bad year for college basketball.

What a brutal game..........

I'll dispute the claim of great defense from above. Too many unforced turnovers to be a great defensive game.

Takes awhile for that type of offense (Princeton) to take shape in my opinion.

Yeah, I'll side with Chicos here, that backdoor-cut Princeton offense takes a while to learn, and it doesn't lend itself to high scoring.  Also, Temple probably still plays that mean 2-3 zone, so if a team isn't shooting well, it won't be a fun game to watch.

More turnovers than baskets by both teams combined in the first half.
Great end to the game, if Temple could hit free throws they would have won.

Even still, a Big East win helps the conference RPI, and will help us get into a better seed in the tournament when we run the schedule.   ;D

i beleive the reason they are highly touted is becuse they start 4 mcdonalsds AA's but none of them have taken over and been a leader on the court it appears

yeah we played poorly. But it's early. I saw a lot to be encouraged by. last year we lose this game. We showed mental toughness today. We got stops when we needed it and we scored in the clutch. We played pretty good D in the first but in the second we started sucking. Essentially Bad game, good win. we've got 4 cupcakes now to sort things out. We have talent and I think we put it together this year. But we'll see.
