Title: Doc Rivers sat right behind TC at the IU game tonight
Post by: 79Warrior on November 16, 2009, 09:41:45 PM

Tough to see him behind the IU bench even with his son playing there.

Wow how can you possibly be upset that Rivers went to see his son play basketball. That is a little ridiculous.

I have no problem with a father going to see his kid play ball. As for being a stand up guy...we should ask Marc Marotta what he thinks of Glenn Rivers as a teammate and brother warrior

I guess this a shortened I hate Tom Crean thread. Glenn Rivers was MU basketball for a lot us for a few years there and some people have learned to associate him with Crean because they don't know any better.

Marc Marotta has had his own stand up guy issues over the years.

Doc hasn't turned his back on MU.

I know from speaking to the senior vp that doc was instrumental in the hiring of buzz.  I think he still loves the program.

+100.

Google up Marotta and "Georgia Thompson" for an insight as to what that guy is about.

How boring was your evening that you actually watched an Indiana basketball game?   ;)

If he still loves the program and is so high on Buzz, why is he allowing his youngest son to waiver on his commitment to Florida and be talking only to dook instead of including MU? K has recruited three point guards and is unofficially chasing River's son as a 4th PG/SG for the class of 2011. We appear to need one more guard if I am not mistaken.

I would guess that Buzz is being the stand up/ethical guy we all think he is by not recruiting someone already committed to another school which BTW is the NABC unwritten policy that K has chosen to ignore. It would be nice if Buzz at least let Doc know that MU would love to be considered if the kid de-commits from UF.

If Doc really loved MU, he would send (make) his kids to MU and pay for their education so MU could give the scholarship to another player. Certainly Doc can afford to pay for their education.

Doc does not love MU as much as he pretends.

What a fake.

This is definitely up for most outlandish post of the day.

Both of Doc's kids decided long ago that they want nothing to do with playing in his shadow at MU.

Doc's a standout MU rah rah guy.

Buzz probably had him sit behind TC, razz him throughout the game, steal plays and schemes all the while do it under the guise of supporting his kid.

It must've worked since IU beat University of South Carolina Upstate by 8 points.

Who would begrudge Rivers watching his son play...certainly not me.

However, I do wonder if parents of other players took note of the seats Doc received...not to mention the season ticket holders who had probably held those seats for years.

History repeats itself!

I'm pretty sure Doc sat that close to Crean so he could help with coaching during the game. It's common knowledge that T-Cubed sucks as a recruiter, but the word is getting around that his bench coaching leaves a lot to be desired as well.

....just when I thought our posts couldn't get more outlandish.....    He sat behind Crean?!?!?    Did they pass notes to each other about whether or not little Susie is cute and which one she likes?!!?

but do think that K is wrong for pursuing Rivers while he is committed to Florida....but that's another story....

Listening to Doc at his jersey retirement there is no doubt he loves MU "GO WARRIORS".  As for what the incredibly ethically challenged Marc Morotta says WHO CARES.  Has he told the truth in 12 years?
