Title: New Intro Video
Post by: LastWarrior on November 14, 2009, 11:17:21 AM
Wasn't at the game but saw the link to the new intro video and it bugged me that only certain players were called out.  So what's the qualification to have your name listed?  Roney Eford for the 90's?  No call-out for Curry or Tony Miller or Key or Jimmy Mac or Pieper or Crawford?  Sure video is shown of them but why does Eford get the callout?  I say list all the stars names or do away with the names.  Other than that it was pretty good.

Just my two cents... judge for yourself http://www.youtube.com/muathletics#p/u/0/3jVdBYWVHiI (http://www.youtube.com/muathletics#p/u/0/3jVdBYWVHiI)

Not about the intro video, but did anyone else notice that all our starters were referred to as seniors in intros? Or did I just hear the PA announcer wrong?

Jim Chones didn't play in the 60's, and I agree the 90's players weren't very well represented.   But it is a cool video

I noticed that last year a bit. I believe that they go by age, but i could be wrong.

Chones played on the freshman team during the '69-70 season. But, yes he started as the Warrior's center during his soph and jr years before bolting in Feb. '72 after the Jacksonville game at the Arena for the ABA' New York Nets.

Criteria were used for deciding who got into the video. I forget what they all were but some were All-American selection, stats leader, championships, etc.

I wanted Logterman for the 90s as well but no luck.

Well they may need to go back at re-evaluate the criteria for the 90's especially as it relates to Eford.  Jimmy Mac was an All-American honorable mention as well as NABC defensive player of the year and Great Midwest Conference player of the year.  Not sure Eford ever attained those accolades.  Damon Key is among the statistical leaders in many of the top stat categories... certainly more than Roney.  Eford was a good player but not sure he was any better or deserves more "pub" than the rest of those players from the 90's.  Better yet, just pull all the names from the video clip.

Brian Wardle doesn't get enough recognition, if you ask me.Sometimes lousy teams...great player for MU.

What is he, like 5th all-time in scoring?

6th, one point behind Diener for 5th.

I have never been able to tell when Mike J is saying junior or senior for introductions, and all 5 starters were juniors or seniors.
