JB was far and away our best offensive AND defensive player last night. He's come a long way from what some called a "wasted scholarship" a year ago. Certainly MU's best "late signing" in recent memory.
It really mitigates the Tyshawn Taylor loss. We have really lost nothing in the Butler for Taylor "trade."
+1. Looking forward to how Buzz's other recruits develop.
Don't get your your Greg all worked up in a lather just yet. Afterall, it was just Centenary.

Butler was fantastic last night but I think, for now, this is hyperbole.

Not sure I understand your logic. You think we don't need taylor in the backcourt?
Very impressive effort by Jimmy last night. Glad to see that he picked up from where he left off at the end of last season. He definitely earned the "Stud of the Game"... btw, are we still doing that feature this season?
If Jimmy Butler was a stock, I'd be selling high today. Ya if you didn't watch the game his stat line was great. But he didn't score outside of five feet, and he had a 6'2 kid guarding him. Jimmy will be good this year, but I wouldn't be expecting these kind of outbursts in the BEast
Butler had a great game last night but we could sure use Taylor

You mean like averaging 14 and 9 over the last 3 big east games....he scored 19 vs. Villanova without hitting a shot outside of 5 feet, 13 of 16 from the floor. He's crafty and knows how to score around the bucket, I think he'll average 15 a game this year.
Jimmy B will be the next MU player to get drafted... put it on the board

*edit, unless lazar has a monster senior season... thanks romey
I'd take Lazar and Butler over James and McNeal any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Much less aggravating.

Wow, one game into the season, Butler has a great game against really a DIV-III school and people already talking about Butler's status in the 2011 NBA draft. Got to be joking. Bring it up in March after BE play winds down.

i'll bring it up whenever i want to, and if you dont like it, just ignore it.
i'm not basing it on his stats last night, im basing it on the fact that he is now close to 6'8", with great hops, great on ball D, a sweet looking jumper, great free throw shooter, extremely hard worker, etc etc

Wow, DJ and Jerel were two people that had Marquette contending to win against anyone. Their accomplishments were stellar. While I want Jimmy and Lazar to succeed like DJ and Jerel, they haven't yet with out them.

Thanks, I'll put it on my board and calendar for June, 2011.

But he only scored 9 last night, so it's now out of the question.
How tall are these guys anyway? Jimmy skies over the other players listed as 6-6. He thought about the trey a few times last night.. only a matter of time before he starts draining them like Zar does.

Ladies, please.....
yeah don't get me wrong, I love jimmy and the way he plays, but saying we couldn't use Taylor in our backcourt this year, or last (instead of acker) is downright foolish.
