UConn by just 9 over William & Mary
Seton Hall by 2 over St. Peters (needing a buzzer beater to do so)
Pitt by 3 over Wofford (after being down 7 at the half, and trailing most of the game)
Avoided any embarrassing losses, but single digit wins home wins over some pretty marginal competition.
To be fair, Villanova notched a 23 point win over Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown topped Tulane by 16 and Providence put a 43 point shellacking on Bryant.

Not as bad as a Rider beatdown. Rider 88--Mississippi State 74
I dont care if they are Big East or not, any time Seton Hall wins it is a bad thing. The way they recklessly attacked DJ when he was indefensible on a couple of occassions will make me hate them for ever, or at least as long as that scum bag Gonzalez is there. To simply undercut players is the ultimate scumbag move, his players should have been ejected and suspended in both cases. F' the Hall
Was it Jamar Nutter both times? I remember the elbow to the head, and something else, which I cannot recall.
Agree a relatively weak first night, but at least we didn't have the SEC embarrassment of No. 2 team Mississippi State losing but also Alabama, which had the big buzz for gettign VCUs coach, losing to Cornell.
I actually hope the Big East is down a little this year - as young as we are we don't need everyone playing at the same level they were last year.
