With an amazing head on his shoulders and some really strong character traits.
Never heard of the kid, but he must have had a 3.9 gpa and got 1500 on his SAT's and barely got in for academic reasons.......We will have to confer with Schultz, but I am sure that barely got him into the Harvard of the midwest ::)
The rodents stealthily slipped in and ripped him away from William & Mary, George Washington, Miami-Ohio and UW-GB. Guess this rounds out Bo-Bo the Clown's negative three star class.
Virginia just offered, Florida put the heat on him for an official visit, ASU, NM, Butler also offered. The best shooter in Illinois. He's 6' 8.5 and is up to 200lbs. Great handle and great shooter and yes he is a great student also! Not the quickest or strongest but can flat out shoot it. We shall see!
Sounds Novakish.

And yet he's just the 16th ranked player in Illinois. One star from Scout. Zero stars from Rivals.
Not to be dismissive - sounds like there may be some upside here and rankings aren't everything - but 6'8"+ kids who are "great" shooters with "great" handle typically are considered far better prospects than this.
What you have here Bo rolling the dice on a project. Maybe it works out. Maybe it's Neil Plank, Part Deux.
If he is 6'8", a great shooter, and only a one-star recruit, he must be athletically challenged. He will probably have a difficult time trying not to get his great shot swotted back into his face on a consistent basis.
Could wind up to be a Novak type or could be a taller Scott Christopherson. Stealing a kid from UWGB is impressive, though. Congrats, Bo!

NO...We are all understanding that Novak is an NBA player. This kid doesn't sound like anything MU's recruited in years.

Actually, this sounds like a 2009 Marquette recruit - Sarina Simmons. No, I correct myself; she's actually a quality player.
Retracted
His father works for the Chicago Bulls as an European scout, or maybe head of European scouting. Father and son were both born in Coatia (sp?). Actually, this kid did have his stock rise quickly on this summer's AAU circuit. In that sense, he is similiar to another MU recruit, Brett Roseboro. However, given that b-ball is the family business, so to speak, I'm sure he'll be much better prepared for Division I then Roseboro evidently was.
My nephew played in the Central Suburban league and beat Deerfield twice. There wasn't a single standout on that entire team. He will struggle. I'm sure they are hoping he has a huge upside.

I'm sure he will do just great in the academics bowl during halftimes this year.

What kind of demented sense of logic does it take to rip on a kid for getting straight A's. We all would hope our kids would do the same if blessed with the ability to do so.
