Title: [Rosiak's Blog] Not even the CBI for MU?

Not even the CBI for MU?

Gary Parrish of CBSSports.com recently offered up his preview of the Big East and he slots Marquette in the 12th spot, which is pretty much in line with what others are saying around the country with the Golden Eagles in a transition season.

But what I found interesting was that Parrish didn't have Marquette making any postseason tournament - not the NCAAs (expected), the NIT or even the CBI (College Basketball Invitational). Parrish doesn't include the Collegeinsider.com tournament, but I'm not even sure if that one will be around in 2010.

Parrish does have Lazar Hayward as a second team all-Big East selection. Here's what he says about MU:

No problem with his analysis because it is a realistic possibility.

I don't see us missing the NIT.

I find it tough to believe that this team will finish below both Seton Hall and St. Johns.  But like others have said, I am ok with this complete lack of expectations for this team.  It will take some of the pressure off and let them find themselves and their games.

Absolutely agree.  Both will be tough. I wouldn't be surprised if one or both finished ahead of GTown and ND. I think there will be a lot parity this year in the BE with the champion potentially losing 4 games, unlike in the past (LVille 16-2 2008-09, GTown 15-3 2007-08). I see a lot of 13-5 through 11-7 teams toward the top.
