Jones is a three star and Blue is a four star on scout. Not getting as much love from them.

They don't have any information on Jones and Blue. It's tough to trust star-ratings when they haven't sent anyone to analyze the player's game in person.
I don't spend much time on the recruiting websites, though. Is that par for the course? Just slap a star rating on a kid without any breakdown of their game from an on-staff analyst?

That's not what happened here. In order to get a rating from Scout, you have to have been seen in person by Dave Telep or Evan Daniels. They don't just put them there arbitrarily, if they haven't seen you, you get no stars.

yeah, that not number 4 ranked SG in the country is not showing them any love on blue.
Not that I think it matters -- Blue is still a great get -- but I've read that recruiting services will ding a player after they sign with a non-elite team. Is that true or just sour grapes?

There is subjectivity to the ratings so maybe to some degree. However, MU has been consistently ranked the last three years and is probably one of the top 25 programs of all time. Getting recruited by MU, while not the same as UNC or UCLA, is no joke.

I'll assume you were talking about Wisconsin. 8-)
Regardless, I'll take a whole team of Blues and Joneses. Since when are 4-star, top-75 guys not good enough? Has Buzz really spoiled some of you that much in 1 year?
I, for one, am geeked for his first 2 recruiting classes. Life is good! :)
Give 'em hell, Buzz!
Wait for the basketball season to begin...there will be A LOT of switching around.
I won't be surprised if Jones and Blue move up.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. The recruiting services are notorious for not paying much attention to a player's high school basketball season. Many feel that evaluations of players during their actual season aren't worth much because they aren't playing top level AAU talent all the time, so they barely pay attention to it.
Unless you're playing for one of the big time national programs like Oak Hill or Findlay or St. Anthony, they likely won't even see you play.
