Glad to hear it.  After hearing the news about Wall being out two games for UK, I was just about to post complaining about how the NCAA somehow made that decision within a week but has spent months on Yous and how Yous' situation was no worse than Wall's.  Good news that he's only going to miss a couple of cupcake games.

After hearing that WVU's Deniz Kilicli was hit with a 20 game penalty for what seems to be the same issue, I was expecting the worst from the NCAA.

Does anyone know if there is a more serious difference between Mbao and Kilicli?  Or is this randomness by the NCAA?  Vendetta against Huggins?  Perception that since Kilicli (#47 rank by ESPN) is a highly ranked players he deserves a harsher penalty?

In any event, its nice to get a break--missing two games will have almost zero impact.

And John Wall (Kentucky) gets two games as well.  Seems like his "punishment" should exceed Mbao's.

Randomness by the NCAA.  If you look back at the history of their rulings, you'll find players that were in nearly identical situations receiving wildly divergent rulings that make no sense.

I don't think it's randomness. Usually it's based on how many games the player played with the team. I assume they might factor in how many players are getting paid, how much, and maybe if they can prove the player knew about it.

Isn't Wall now playing on a professional team?

Or whether the school was upfront with the NCAA about the eligibility concern.

Probably has to do with the # of minutes and games played...

But it probably has to do with the big name team (Efes Pilsen) he played with...

Or they found something in the Turkish news after it was translated...
