Title: Bobby Knight turns down invitation to his own HoF induction

QuoteBob Knight is the most important figure in the history of Indiana basketball. I suppose you could try to argue someone else, but I'd just point out to you that he's the most recognizable and then move on with my life, because you'd have no retort. And yeah, he left the school on bad terms, and yeah, he's currently suing them, but the Hoosiers still understand his importance and are inducting him into the IU Hall of Fame.

Too bad he's not going to bother showing up for his own induction ceremony.

Some people's lives are like WWF/WWE scripts.  Bobby Knight makes everything epic.

He's suing them.  Why would he show up on campus for his own HoF induction?

I think he knows that Indiana University really didn't want this.  It was a bow to "his people" who still resent the fact that they fired him.

My argument would be that the HoF is for the university as a timeless entity.  It doesn't have anything to do with the administration because the administration is contemporary.  The HoF is for the past, present and future players and students.

I, personally, would be able to separate my animosity with the guy(s) that fired me from my love for my teams and the fans that cheered for them.  I would term it a duty for him to come back and say some nice things and throw a memorial chair into the IU HoF.

No doubt I4 will gladly accept on behalf of Knight, as that's the closest to a hall of fame as he'll get.  wonder if I4 will commission a banner?

Despite how big of a c$%#(#er he is, there is no reason TC should not be in the MU HOF some day (preferably after his time on this planet has elapsed).

I'm nominating him as the first inductee into MU's Hall of Shame.

Bobby Knight was a great teacher, and turned boys into men, graduated his kids, no one can take that away from him.  He was a top 5 coach All-Time in College Basketball

And hes turned into an entertaining analyst

If he doesn't want to show up, so be it.
