They just showed Wes' pink travel backpack he has to carry all year for rookie hazing.

Wes said, "Hey it's only 41 days of my life".

With the run the Nuggets are on, Wes might see some garbage minutes at the end of this one.

The Jazz completely fell apart in the 4th.  It was a close game for 3 quarters now they are down 20.

Wes had a good game for the 4 minutes he was in the games.
He set up Milsap for an easy lay up and played very strong defense.  He is a much better defender than ronnie price.
Him being -6 on the floor had nothing to do with Wes, but weak defending around him.

It was happy to see how well he played for his first minutes as a pro.  He could be utilized as a good bench player for the jazz

I don't know if I like the +/- stat for basketball.  I like it in hockey, but I'm not sure on basketball.

Actually, I like it.  I've kind of mentally done that over the years. Usually my observations have been correct.  A guy like Bernard Toone made dumb mistakes, but MU always seemed to expnad its leads or come back when he was on the court coming off the bench.  The logic seems to work better re guys coming off the bench.
Title: could a mathematical formula be created?
Post by: mugrad99 on October 29, 2009, 11:58:45 AM
say palyers ABCDE expand the lead by4
ABCDF- expand lead by 2
BCDFG- lose lead by 3

and so on for all combinations during the game.  Then devise a formula based on those stats, rather than just an individual +/-, which does not factor in who a player is playing with?

Looks like NBA.com doesn't have him official yet:

Try to click his name on the box score to see his player card.  Notice when you hover over the links for other players that there is real web URL for them but poor wes doesn't have one.

Makes more sense when it's viewed on a season-long basis than within an individual game, really.

way to go wes, good for him he deserves this. I think he worked the hardest out of the three to get where he is.

My wife said that Hubie and the crew gave him quite a bit of love during the broadcast.

An undrafted free agent with an NBA player father making the team and playing 5 minutes on opening night is definitely worth mentioning. :)

Great for Wes. Glad to see he overcame the doubters.
