Bobblehead??
So how does his salary work? League minimum, of course, but how does he earn it, game by game? I mean, if he gets waived in 3 weeks, does he get like 3/52nds of league minimum?

They are paid every two weeks. The contract is compacted into 6 mo which is the length of the season.

And my guess is that it is pro-rated by day on the roster....not by game...if you are cut.
And his contract doesn't become guaranteed until sometime in January.

Nah, I'm sure all the promotions were taken care months ago. Next year, however ........
I'd guess that Wes is thankful for Buzz's selection as coach. Under the old super control from the sidelines offense, he was never given the opportunity to flourish. Congratulations to Wesley, a fine testament to Marquette University and his parents guidance.

Agreed. Don't want to get this into a TC-bashing thread, but Buzz and Dale Layer certainly added dimensions to Wesley's game that were not there previously. Both coaches can share the credit here.

As if one could stop a thread --
any thread -- from turning into a TC bashfest by simply "wanting" it to not happen. There are more powerful forces at work here.

You rang?
Great for Wesley and also great that Buzz has now added a very powerful spokesperson on his behalf. Lets see a big time recruit is down to MU and IU and he calls Mu's most recent NBA'er for advice. Hmmm
Just a thought, but, I don't think we'll be seeing Wes in IU shorts.
Congrats to Wes. Great to be a Warrior.

Didn't Wes Tweet or blog something about receiving IU shorts from TC, and not knowing what the hell to do with them?
from the slctribune.com today:
"The Jazz also will open the season with rookie Wesley Matthews on their roster. Although they weren't planning to carry a 14th player given their luxury-tax payroll, injuries to C.J. Miles and Kyle Korver necessitated Matthews' addition.
Matthews defied the odds not just by making the NBA after going undrafted out of Marquette, but doing so after he averaged just 6.2 points and shot 34.8 percent in five games with the Jazz's summer-league team in Orlando, Fla."
As much as we may argue the merits of previous staff I will leave it to Wesley to attest to reality.
Congrats to a great kid and fine rep of our alma mater.
I'd be curious about some numbers..
How many 2nd rounders did NOT make a roster?
How many undrafted guys like Wes DID?
Here's the Jazz roster page. (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/teams/roster?team=uth&sort=null) It includes salaries too.
Is AK-47 really worth $16m this season?

Well according to the Heat roster J Oneal is worth $23MM, so I guess he is. But going by this math should DWade be making like $85MM this season.
