committed to Loyola today. Not a big deal at all, especially with what we got coming. Just thought it was interesting since we were recruiting him a few years ago, and now he is signing with Loyola. Just a little side note, this guy would be playing for Marquette if Tom Crean was still here (Didn't mean that as a pro or con, just saying).
I really doubt that.
TC was high on him, as were many others, when he was younger because he projected as a higher rated prospect than he eventually became. When it became clear that his ceiling was lower, many coaches cooled on him...and I believe TC would have been one of them.
And just a few years ago he was a top 20 prospect with all the big boys recruiting him.
I'm not so sure. Obviously this is all hypothetical, but Crean seemed to like him enough to continue recruiting him at IU. He is a Milwaukee native, and although coaches have definitly cooled on him, hes not a bad player. Had we not gotten Jamail Jones, I feel like he would have been our bailout plan so to speak.

Not a chance. Buzz showed little interest in Davis since taking the job, and none in quite a long time. The offer to come to MU that Crean had extended was in fact rescinded, and Davis was not being looked at anymore.
Flavien Davis is a power forward in a shooting guards body. That is why he is going to Loyola. I think coaches projected him to get taller. He never did.
Loyola is a good choice. Best of Luck Flavien.

That was part of it. Some thought he would grow and become a true power forward. Some thought he would get slimmer and develop guard skills. He never really did either.
Surprised UW-M was not after him. Keeping decent local guys is important for the Panthers.
I would not have been surprised if Tommy naismith signed Davis probbaly 2/3 of his recruits he signed while at Mu were not better than Horizon league type players. par for the course.

He's a 6'4" forward. Honestly, I'm not convinced that he's even a Division 1 player.
Anybody notice the caption on this one?

Yep, and I'm sure it's true. I wish I could find teh picture.....
Unfortunately, I think it's this picture you're looking for. I didn't appreciate that being one of the few games I went to in person.
