For not recognizing he had an NBA talent on the roster for 3 years and miscasting his roll on the team. Thankfully, Buzz corrected this last season and Wes was able to make the most of his opportunities.
Shame on Tommy and to think he makes a living evaluating and coaching talent, pathetic.
Great post.....don't you have anything better to do?
why the hell did i bother to open this? Must be groggy, I really need to try and get more sleep.
Crean Sucks!
Seriously guys? It's been over a year now. Time to celebrate the joys of recruiting from Madison Memorial!
Wait, Crean isn't the head coach? Did I miss something?
Or the glass is half full, thank you for recruiting another NBA player to the roster.
Matthews
Wade
Diener
Novak
4 players in the Association....all active...still counting to see if Hayward makes it. I wonder if Tyshawn Taylor makes it.
Deane had 0 he recruited
KO had 3
Dukiet had 0
Of course seniors also tend to have breakout years. Damn that Mike Deane for not knowing he had a future NBA player in Chris Crawford.
Didn't Dukiet recruit Tony Smith?
you are right 4 ever just a stupid was when he tried to turn DJ in to a shooting guard his sophomore season. wow take a player who is outstanding in about every area but shooting and make him take the bulk of the teams shots and have them be jump shots. Simply agreat idea...no wonder Huggins mocks him as Tommy Naismith. DJ endured tremendous abuse from the fanbase for being a selfish ball hog when Crean was trying to make him his next Dwade. totally miscast. DJ was at his best under Buzz being a facilitator to zar, rel and wes.
This thread is why we have the ignore button and i will be adding my first 3 right now.

I thought it was Majerus but he never played for Majerus
Who f'ing cares? Good lord. This is almost as tired as the Warriors/Golden Eagle debate nonsense.

Anybody who accepts our current nickname, not to mention the way it was plopped on our faces out of Fr. DiUlio's anus, is a loser.
Marquette is the Warriors.
Wait a minute. Wasn't Matthews a starter for 3.5 seasons at MU (starting every game after halfway through his freshman year)? Didn't Crean take him to New York for the Big East press conference along with McNeal and James? Weren't they dubbed the Three Amigos from the get-go?
I don't get the bashing of Crean on this one. How did he hold him back? He scored over 1,000 points in his 3 years under Crean. Yes, he raised his scoring average under Buzz, and he most probably benefited from Buzz's let-em-play philosophy. But he did learn a thing or two under Crean.
Why can't we give both Crean and Buzz some credit for Matthew's development?

My point that it was a tired debate. There are no new facts, issues, positions, stances, etc. to be taken. Bringing it up as a debate is an exercise is futility. I sincerely didn't want to ignite any debate on the issue. That horse has been beaten to death.

I know what your point was.

Because Crean is the antichrist. Duh!

There is the same chance of Marquette returning to Warriors as there is of the United States returning to British control. There was no point in you "running with it" if you knew what my point was, which was there was nothing more to discuss.

Majerus recruited Smith, but Smith never played for him.

Hail to the Queen....Long Live the Brits!!
"Avenue Commons" -- are you suggesting I'm beating a dead horse? Is that what you're saying, "Avenue Commons?" Because, "Avenue Commons," I'd say a return to Warriors is more likely to occur then some of DiUlio's other harebrained ideas.

I just took a look around the internet for Avenue Commons since I never had before. Interestingly enough Google has scanned and indexed old newspaper articles, capturing the outrage for all time (http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1368&dat=19950208&id=TeEVAAAAIBAJ&sjid=DRMEAAAAIBAJ&pg=5805,1838936) :)

If you can get this in writing, I'll lead the revolution.
Take it to the streets.
