Title: Streaming Madness

Does anyone else find it encouraging that Fulce is in the dunk contest?  Or interesting that Yous is in it?  I'm looking forward to seeing how well JFulce is doing and how agile Yous actually is.

Joe has been talking up the dunk contest for a long time, and has been practicing all summer.
I am not surprised he is participating, It should be interesting to see what the tall drink of water Mbao does in the contest.

My prediction one of them jumps over Mo Acker.

I think it means Buzz agrees with Fulce's self assessment that he's 98-99%, otherwise he wouldn't be allowed to participate.  Given that before last season started, he supposedly had more upside than Butler, until he was hurt that is, I can't wait to see what he can do when he's at full strength.

This is the 3rd and final VB game I think.

The stream is working fine for me, took a bit to come up (audio came before video), but otherwise ok.  Initially the quality was crap, but I guess they worked those issues out, cuz it's much better now.

You're not missing much -- just a lot a talk about Fulce and how he's going to dunk.. only to have it not shown.  Wow.

Who were the other two?

hopefully a fan caught with a phone or something.  god forbid a camera would have been on the participants of a dunk contest.

I was thinking the same thing.  I'd be hard pressed to think of a "sporting event" that would be easier to televise than a dunk contest.  You only have to worry about one guy at a time, and you know where he's going.  As if that wasn't bad enough, everybody knew that Fulce was the guy to beat.  Pretty sad.

It is up on YouTube.  I just watched on my iPhone.  Just enter Joe Fulce Dunks.
It the 2nd entry.  Kudos to the person that shot it and edited it.  Explain to
MUTV that people want to see the actual dunks not the sideline reporters
stumbling through their opinions.

Fulce's dunk.  Can't see Mo and from where he passed the ball from this angle.

Hey everyone, I'm Leif and I'm this year's Station Manager.  First of all, on behalf of General Manager Patty, myself, and our hardworking staff and volunteers - we're glad that you watched everything! Thanks for the support and for tuning in from wherever you were on Friday night.

We're aware that there were some issues with our broadcast. Unfortunately, our equipment isn't as up-to-date as we'd prefer it to be, and that's kind of where our problems begin with each "remote" broadcast that we do. Camera batteries, Mic batteries, bad connections - we're forced to troubleshoot along the way as we broadcast.

We learn a little bit each time we do these things. It's a little difficult sometimes because our staff and volunteers change, which means people have to learn how to do things on the fly, which isn't too easy when you're dealing with a live television broadcast. When our volunteers and staff leave Marquette - we want them to have a well-rounded knowledge of technical and producing skills. To do that, we have to swap people in positions that they might not have been in before.

We apologize that we couldn't bring you Fulce's dunk (most of our camera shots were focused on Acker and what he was doing - it's not like we knew what he was going to do from there...But it's good that a lucky fan got such a good angle of the winning dunk.

Now after this, we know that our camera shots should be varied and we shouldn't "watch" the action as much as we should follow it and relay it back the viewers.

Once again, thanks for the support and feel free to contact us at mutv@marquettestudentmedia.org

That video is made even more awesome by capturing a camera man in the foreground completely missing the dunk as it's happening.

That "camera man" is Luke LeNoble ... who shot the behind the scenes video.
