Well you know, as a "Buzz hater" I have to throw a few of these in every once in awhile to throw off the dogs. ;D
Not sure if this is a "great" article.
Williams hasn't put in any set plays or any of the offense yet because the team is so young and he doesn't know what to expect, beyond wanting to build a tent this week.
Why, Buzz?
"Because I anticipate that it'll be a circus every day the first month and a half of practice," Williams said. "Some days they're going to be excited, some days they're going to be tired, some days they're going to be tired of learning, some days they're going to be overwhelmed with it all.
"I think it's going to be a lot of fun."
?-(
With no set plays or offense makes for a VERY interesting MM.
hard to put in plays when your limited in what you can do practice wise

True, but in some sense this isn't as big of a worry as it would be if the offense were going to be based on tons of set plays like say Utah State. With a motion offense, you don't have a lot of different set plays to worry about.
Yeah, besides Buzz isn't a HOF coach.

And not having all your players available in whom you're going to run plays (DJO).
I agree with BMA as well.
Look at Buzz last year, he let the boys play more than hold them under his control with plays. I know last year was a unique situation, in which 3 high profile seniors returned for his first year coaching, but it appears that Buzz's style equates more to coaching/preparing during practice and letting the kids play during game time.
IMO that is a good way to coach, so the fact he doesn't have plays set up before MM is of no concern for me.

Having a lot of set plays can also eliminate the "creativeness" on offense...as long as they remain disciplined and play within the overall scheme.
Buzz also seems to tend to downplay everything. I highly doubt they haven't taught the guys any offensive system at all. No sense getting worked up or concerned about it now. I guess that's part of the excitement of this year, waiting to see what we've got.
so is there any doubt out there that Buzz will end up being at least as rotund as Majerus?

Majerus had a serious addiction...to Saz's
As long as Buzz can avoid that, I think he will be ok.

I'm really hoping that once he gets into this running thing he keeps it up. His rate of weight gain is concerning if he keeps it up over the next few years.

18 pounds in a year is a LOT... so he has a serious addiction to something.

Work. I've seen it happen to a lot of people who work campaigns. Crazy hours, no exercise, and eating on the run can put the pounds on quick.

I also think that it is a great way to recruit. It has to be more fun as long as you are winning too.
244 miles in 40 days is 43 miles a week, or 6.1 miles a day.
As an avid runner, I would find that much running tough. If Buzz pulls this off, it will be quite an achievement.
Afterward, he could be an assistant cross country coach.
I LOVE THIS!!! That will be every bit as hard as the work he puts the team through. I wrestled in HS and the workouts were ridiculously tough.....having the coach as an example, pushing it with us was a great example and an even greater team-builder. A coach should always have respect, but it is guaranteed when they push themselves to THEIR limit physically. Great motivation.
Rick was ordering 6 pizzas and eating 3 himself when he would take us out at Marquette High. He was working out as well and playing in the scrimmages at both the high school and then at MU. I hating running into a pick he set as he loved to knock you down. Be interesting to see what happens with buzz. Don't think he is playing in the scrimmages.
Does the tent thing sound a bit like something Al might do?
