The NCAA is probably going to change the rules limiting phone calls from coaches to recruits. The proposal is to have coaches given unlimited calling opportunities during the approved contact periods.
This also means texting and email as well

The NCAA has to vote on this, but my guess is that it passes. Kelvin Sampson was ahead of his time.
Sampson still was pushing the edge of the envelope to its limits ( and a little beyond...). Rules are rules.
Nothing beats a coach visiting a player personally, call all you want
But do the recruits have to be in his Fave Five?
Does this mean Sampson call sue IU and get his old gig back? Will Crean be out?

Why do you hate Buzz? Enough with your man-crush on TC already.
(There, got that out of the way for the thread.)

Dumb rule change.
Let the kids be kids.
Now they're going to get overloaded with all of the phone calls at what, 15-16 years old-even senior year it's too much.
Keep it to the limited amount and let the kid call the coach however much he/she wants.
I wonder when there will be an information staffer whose sole job is to contact recruits "as the head/assistant coach" if this passes.

The parents/guardians could/should set additional limits on incoming calls, which I sure as heck would do if my child was being recruited like that. I would set time frames and other limits and anyone who violated them in contacting my child would be eliminated from consideration.

As if...
In most cases, that won't happen since the parents won't have their kid's phone in their possession.
I am also certain it will pass. Unlimited is a lot easier to track :)
Does this mean Jim Calhoun gets off the hook at UCONN? Whatever happened with that?
