Wes played 13 minutes 6 points
1-4 FGM-A
3-4 FTM-A
1-1 3pt
2 steals
1 rebound
Wes was the 3rd leading scorer of the bench with considerable less minutes that the top 2 leading bench scorers ronnie brewer and paul milsap.
good start i must say ehhh
Good for Wes. Hope he makes it.
Very nice stats. Two steals is great.
I don't know if they keep that kind of stat, but somebody on one of the Jazz boards said that all three of his missed field goals were because he got his shot blocked.
Interesting. He doesn't jump much on his jumper. He also may have to get a faster trigger or like many freshman at the D-1 level, it takes a while to understand what you can and cannot do at the next level, with the added quickness, strength and height that your up against. Still some nice stats for the first time out in pre-season. A lot of guys would just freeze up.
He also hit 3/4 FTs...so maybe he was just blocked legitimately once and fouled the other 2 times?
Glad to see that he got some PT though!
It doesn't count as a field goal attempt when you're fouled and don't make the shot. It's like getting walked in baseball--doesn't count as an at-bat
Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification.
The baseball reference doesn't help me at all though, haha, because I don't know doo doo about baseball.

Don't forget, Wesley's not in college anymore.
His Facebook status currently reads "Wesley Matthews Is headed to London. Good crepes. No phone. Damn. Holla at me on here."
Looks like it's up to Jerel...
That doesn't necessarily mean he's not on the jazz anymore (although it certainly could). NBA teams are starting to play some of their games in Europe in order to globalize the sport and the league. Last year the Heat played the Nets in France a few times and other teams have played in China and other places all over the world in the past few years. The Jazz have a game scheduled against Real Madrid's basketball team in a few days also, so maybe they're just in London as of now. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if it really did mean he signed with a team in London

Good call. Jazz are playing a few games there.
