He and two others will be joining the bucks for training camp with non-guarenteed contracts but atleast it is a good chance for him to show what he has.
That is great news. Congrats DJ. It's hard to not wonder "what could have been" had he not gotten hurt. Hopefully his body has healed and he can showcase his skills.
It is great for DJ. Hope it is not a feel good kind of deal from the Bucks, but that they are really interested in him.
Go DJ.
Go Warriors!
I just hope this isnt a stunt to sell more tickets by the bucks
It wouldn't be a bad idea to throw a Marquette guy on the Bucks roster to sell a few more tickets. Hell, they might as well pick up all three amigos. That would draw some people. What else do the Bucks have going for them?
If it takes a marketing ploy to get them in the league so be it. All you need is that foot in the door.
Nobody is going to spend the money on NBA tickets to watch DJ sit on the bench.
All teams need to fill out the roster for training camp with guys who they know aren't likely to make the team.
Gives DJ a chance to impress the rest of the league as well as teams in Europe.
All three amigos are good people. You would think that would weigh in, if they are close to making the rookie league or wht ever it is called.
wesley is on the training camp roster with Utah correct?

+1
This is the first feel good news I've heard out of the MU program for a couple months. Good luck DJ!

I believe this to be correct.
I saw a hoopshype columnist write a blurb about it about a month and a half ago

I thought all 3 were already a lock to start for the Bulls. Or, was that just the word on the street?
Luke Ridnour - $6,500,000 - Expiring Contract
Brandon Jennings - $2,168,520 - Rookie Contract
Roko Leni Ukic - $1,350,000; Player Option for '10-'11
If James really outshined Ukic I could see the Bucks waving Ukic, though I don't see them wanting to take the hit for a team that generates so little revenue. Although, with the recent track record of injuries on the Bucks, a spot could open up for him sooner than later...

Why would a team with a track record of injuries take a chance on James -- a player who had some kind ache, pain or cramp nearly every game of his MU career?
Plus he's 5'10" and can't shoot.
However, he has NBA hops and defense that could shut down opposing guards. Has a very good chance wth the bucks
When I mentioned the Bucks adding Dom and the other amigos to the roster to draw people I meant for the training camp games. I bet a good amount of MU fans would go to the BC to check out the amigos play even if it was a preseason game.
Training camp includes the preseason games right?
The Bucks are a disaster, just look at their off-season!

You mean that they let the massively overrated Charlie V go? (CONTRACT YEAR EXPLOSION!)
You mean that they didn't bother to match on Sessions? (Why pay $5mil a year and get luxury taxed for a losing season?)
You mean that they traded Richard Jefferson away? (Of course, this was for salary issues/cap room)
All in all, John Hammond has done a good job of getting terrible contracts off the books, and after this year there will be a lot more money to work with.

Presuming that his 2 injuries in the last 7 months didn't affect those at all.
Yes, he'll be better able to check Rose, Mayo, and Kobe now.
