Yes, they will be gone for those games.
However, I remember making trips back for the big games and the parties during that time period. I would suspect MU would encourage kids, somehow, to come back (especially the kids locally) and cheer on the team for their home opener and against Gtown.
Students return for classes on Jan. 19 so Prov. too - sort of. I'm sure many will attend.
In the past Marquette has sent out buses (one from Appleton area, one from Chicago area) to get fans down and back for the Marquette games, I'm sure they will do it again.
Hopefully the stronger enforcement of "student" tickets that was supposedly going to happen doesn't for these games. Better that the people planning to come can bring a friend instead of leaving seats empty.
Maybe a vacation back to the good ol alma mater is in store! :D
didnt something like this happen last year, noted with not as highly toughted teams as Nova and Gtown, but didnt MU offer the studetns seats to the public at for like $10 or something? If you are talking about having the much louder students there than local 'fans', then yeah, hopefully MU will do something for this. Maybe open the dorms back up for that night so the kids can have a place to sleep.

One of the main reasons nothing has really happened on that front in the past few years is because of break games.
