Been incommunicado for a couple of weeks. Mbao suspended? Specifics? Thanks.
He's cleared to play academically. Because he played on a team in Europe where some of the players were paid (not him), the NCAA will be reviewing his professional eligibility and likely issuing a suspension. In a past case the suspension had been an entire season, but word is that things have changed recently and we can expect it to be lighter.
Nothing official yet, but Buzz seems to expect a couple of games for the eligibility issue.
Thanks All.
If he redshirts, does he have to serve the suspension next year?
He won't redshirt. Our roster is cut to the core as it is.

any games....or conference games. I assume any, so he shouldn't miss too much huh?

The way Buzz talks about it, I would presume that he's expecting Mbao to be eligible for the Old Spice Classic.
Its even conceivable that the NCAA will act rationally, and decide not to punish him for something he did not do. After all, he didn't get paid for playing, some of his teammates were getting paid.
NCAA acting rationally - sorry, I lost my head there for a moment...... :-\
