Looking for some help...I am going to be traveling to a conference in Galena, IL this weekend and want to find some way to catch the game on Saturday. Does anyone know of a bar in Galena that might carry ESPNU? Is it possible to watch ESPNU games on the internet?
Any help would be appreciated.
Anyone know where people in Washington D.C. watch games?
We took a trip to Galena last April .. it's very nice .. as much as I love Door County, WI .. Galena in FIB-land is really naturally beautiful.
I don't think you'll have a problem finding a bar that has ESPNU .. everything in Galena is found on Main street, which is 4-5 blocks long, very compact. Probably 8-10 bars/restaurants right along that strip. Park on the East or West end, and start walking. You'll get lucky with one of those places.
are you staying at Eagle Ridge? Try the bar at the Inn, have a number of tvs for a small place and it's dead this time of year there.
If not, then Main street is probably the only other place in Galena. Dubuque is across the mississip, probably could find a sports bar there. Try the Irish cottage for evening dinner and drinks, very cool place. Usually have live music and irish dancers.
Thanks for the help. I am staying at Eagle Ridge so I will try their lounge first and then if unsuccessful move on out to Main Street to try my luck.
Is the internet an option for this game...I did not see it listed on the ESPN website.
I think this is a big game for MU for a couple reasons:
1. To keep pace of Pitt in the BE
2. To avenge an earlier ugly losss this season
3. To give this team confidence against a zone defense
We stayed at a condo in Eagle Ridge .. I've never seen a collection of 2nd homes as nice as that compound .. the lodge is nice, as is the bar.
BTW, it is a 7-10 minute drive from ER to Main street, so plan accordingly. I'd say, when you check in to ER, go to the bar and ask if they have sat TV/ESPNU.
And no, the game won't be webcast.
In the Chicago area, anyone know what Comcast channel ESPN U is on?
I looked last night but couldn't find it. I assume there would be a one time pay-per-view option?
The Comcast website sucks.
The Alumni Club in DC has been having the games at the Grand Slam Bar in the Hyatt at Metro Center (1000 H Street). I havent heard if they're going to have Saturdays game on but would assume so since all of the rest have been on there.
Comcast does not carry ESPNU. Yes they suck. So, you'll need to find a buddy with a dish (either one), or head to a sports bar.
Spikes, the bar at the General, is closed for the winter so the only option is the Inn. It also takes 5-10 mins just to get back to US 20, then another 10 or so mins to get to Main St., so like hilltopper said, plan accordingly.
