Who did you meet while at Marquette that ended up having 15 minutes of fame?
I have a few, but I'll start off with a friend who I haven't seen since graduating who I learned was in the news lately.
Joba Chamberlain impersonator and former MU student Ryan Ward
Now this is about a year old, but I sure did get a kick out of an email sent to me a few months ago from a roomate/teamate of mine at Marquette. We always knew our nut friend who was a decent rugby player on our team would show up on a police report some day... but didn't know that it would be national news.
Did you hear about Ryan Ward, former MU student ('98-'01) impersonating Joba Chamberlain to get free drinks and women's attention? Classic Ryan Ward! Ha! He ended up making an appearance on Howard Stern and was in the paper for a few weeks. Luckily, Marquette's name wasn't dragged through the mud... although I can't verify he actually attended many classes while at MU!

They do look nearly idenical....
I lived next door to Trenni at Humphrey Hall...but she definitely has way more than 15 minutes of fame. Does that count??
If there's such thing as a class clown in college, this guy was it. Dan Pudi was a year behind me but our groups would all hang out. Good guy. I first saw him on a McDonalds commercial... then a Snickers commercial. Now he's on a big time show called Community that's coming out on NBC. Good luck to him!

One of my fellow College of Business grads, Drew Sawa, was on the CW's TV show Beauty and the Geek (as "the Trekkie"). He didn't win, but gave a solid effort.

What happened to Trenni? I never see her on the MLB network.

"Ward of course got arrested for his little scam in which he claims to have slept with 60 to 100 women while posing as Chamberlain"
Is jail time worth it?!?
I'm confused why someone would go to jail impersonating someone else? There are thousands of Elvis impersonators... I am now picturing a jail full of 40 year old men dressed as Elvis swinging their hips all over the cell...
But back to the question, why is he going to jail for posing as Joba... and it working on clueless women?

Great questions Mayor McCheese. He was arrested and charged for theft by deception. Ward pleaded guilty in a plea deal and was sentenced to about $2,500 in fines and two years probation in February 2009. I guess Johnny Law doesn't want people getting free drinks and ladies.
