Hayward, U.S. U-Games team roll
MU senior forward Lazar Hayward put up 12 points and six rebounds in just 13 minutes off the bench to help lead the United States past South Korea, 113-76, to advance to the second round of the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
All 12 players scored for the U.S., with seven scoring in double figures.
Hayward & Co. (2-0) next face Greece (1-1) on Monday at 1 p.m., and then Serbia (2-0) at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
You can find the box score, quotes and all other pertinent information at USA Basketball's web site.
Additionally, this will be my last post on the MU blog for the next three weeks, as I begin my July sabbatical.
If something major occurs during that time, I'll be sure to update you. Otherwise, I'll be back July 26, and hopefully will be able to pick up where I left off with a few more open gym reports to catch you up on how the newcomers have progressed.
And as always, thanks for reading.
