DJO- #1
Junior- #5
Eric Williams- #12
Maymon- #22
Buycks- #23
Rosbero- #34
Mbao- #55
These are not set in stone but most likely these will be their numbers!
Couldn't they do something more original. DJO=DJames, EWill=Dwight, Maymon=Jerel, Buycks=Wes
I predict someday Rosboro will have his number retired...and deservedly so.
Apparently Converse only supplied the MU athletic department with a dozen jerseys. They have to be recycled, just like in the high schools.
Otherwise, maybe the new players wanted to get a head start with having lots of fans already owning their jerseys...
Or, maybe these new guys came to MU partially because they idolize the outgoing Amigos and want to honor them by wearing their numbers.

Don't forget Mbao = McMorrow = RJax
Good to see nobody took 24
Roseboro is going to look like a monster version of Diener with the 34 on his back.
Isn't it Erik Williams...with a K?

Hopefully they all look like monster versions of their predecessors.

Liam McMorrow? Robert Jackson? Come on now.. the real #55 when it comes to Marquette hoops is Greg Clausen.
Anyone have pics of the fellas from practices or Buzz's BBQ?
sweet... i can keep wearing my #22 jersey and not look like my father in law when he wears his Dimitri Young jersey to Tigers game...

Dimitri Young? He didn't go Bobby Higginson?!?
By the way, where did the uni number info come from, KC?
There aren't a lot of numbers available for the incoming class to choose from.
Returning players:
2-Butler
10-Cubillan
21-Fulce
32-Lazar
33-Butler
42-Otule
45-Frozena
Retired numbers...err...jerseys:
3-Wade
11-Apollo 11
14-Meminger
15-Lee
20-Lucas
24-Thompson
31-Ellis/Rivers
43-Tatum
44-Kojis
So that leaves 1, 4, 5, 12, 13, 22, 23, 25, 30, 34, 35, 40, 41, and the 50s.
I guess you could have a policy where you freeze the numbers of the graduating seniors for a year, but that seems kind of silly.
You forgot 0 and 00.
Looks like 2 is available now (NOTE to Sultan: it's Acker, not Butler).
77 is also retired for Al.
The other "retired" jersey numbers are still available, but as we saw in the 24 debacle, it would probably be wise to check with the retired guy for his blessing before giving out one of those.
I for one thing it would be cool if the incoming guards would all choose numbers in the 50s. It would be unique.
Can we quietly put #11 back in circulation? I obviously wasn't around back then, but what a silly decision.

Buzz (Williams) would never do that to a fellow Buzz (Aldrin).

Does the NCAA have a "right hand digit must be 0-5" rule?
I believe both digits must be 0-5 so that referees can show player numbers using both hands (such as when indicating a foul to the scorer's table). Seems odd at first but is practical.

Actually, and as a basketball ref I can attest to this, it is so you can use one hand twice.

Oh, the practicality I knew, I just wondered if it was required by any conference/the NCAA.
Junior should have went with the 00... go for the slim down look
