For all you Buck fans out there.
Per ESPN, Jefferson to Spurs for Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto. All in last year of contract and clears 15M for next year.

Bucks are getting about 84 years worth of players (mostly garbage)... bout the same age as our gay old senator who owns the 3rd rate team

It clears the way for DWade's return to Milwaukee.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
(Actually, I like the trade. If you're mediocre in the NBA, your goal should be to drop contracts and get bad.)
Too bad they can't trade Redd too. They're not going anywhere with his one dimensional ability either.
We'll see...maybe Redd is next.
This also clears some roster space on the Spurs for Jerel & Wes, who one mock draft had both players going there last week...
Definitely helps clear some space to sign sessions which I think is their main goal at this point. Also to get time for Alexander to hopefully show he wasn't a bust. Who knows, they could still re-sign Charlie V too. But I can't stand Bowen or Oberto so seeing them on the Bucks will be frustrating.
I guess that the trade makes sense financially but I hate to see us get rid of Jefferson. Also Bowen might not be that bad because he fits into Scott SKiles' defense first scheme.
I could totally see Bowen retiring after this trade.
The Bucks will release Bowen and Oberto, it helps clear salary NOW and we need that. Both are below average now anyway.

That's a lot of $$ to buy out and then possibly pay to other player.
Is Herb willing to do that?

per chad ford: "The Bucks expect to save $6.35 million next season after releasing Bowen (only $2 million guaranteed) and Oberto (only $1.9 million guaranteed), a source told ESPN.com"
I don't see why he wouldn't do it
This is a clear contract dump.
the gaurenteed money those guys have is FAR less than we would be paying for RJ next year.
the Bucks couldn't have worked a better situation... JH is doing a great job.

Agreed. And this trade really helps the Spurs too. Good for both parties.

Touche.
I stand corrected.

+1
It was nice seeing him become a quality ball player, now it's frustrating watching him play half the season and not grow anymore as a player.
There was a time to get rid of him, but the Bucks were asking way too much for him. I think it was a great move to get rid of RJ, it would be amazing to get rid of Redd, I just don't see it happening.
At least Hammond is doing something to shake up this organization. I remember two years ago my buddy had free seats to the game, lower bowl around midcourt (he worked for the Bucks). He offered them to me for me to go with a friend. It was against the Raptors or something on a Friday night. We didn't take it, because we knew we had to sit through the game rather than sitting at a table with our friends playing speed quarters watching something else(which we did most every Thursday thru Saturday).
It's sad when you can't give away lower bowl mid-court to an NBA Franchise. I have no expectations for next year but at least there is some movement going on and someone taking an interest in this aweful franchise--get some young blood in there to excite the city and get a face to go with it and people will come back for NBA ball in the BC (Ohh and get rid of the purple-go back to forest green and maroon or whatever those colors were).
Dude, the purple's been gone for like 2 years now.

Hmm...
I am embarrassed. Shows how much I have kept up with them.
Still, embarrassed.
Now Oberto has been reportedly traded for the Pistons' Amir Johnson.
Great pickup for the Bucks!

+1! So far, I'm very impressed with what JH has done.
+2. It'll be interesting to see what tomorrow brings. Flynn or Holiday are the two most talked about around here, and I think both would be good picks.
