Very nice news. Probably only a surprise to those who follow his home town university.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet! Thanks! ;D
To all those rodent fans saying he wouldn't, tell me Maymons ass tastes.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Nice article, sounds like he's a very grounded young man and ready to roll. Thank you Mrs. Flynn!
Congratulations Jeronne!
Based on that article, it really sounds like he was a typical teenager that had a lot handed to him and people looked the other way due to his athletic ability. Kudos to his family for getting his head on academic-wise and to Jeronne himself for putting in the time. I hope he's rewarded with a well-earned degree from Marquette.
He and his dad always said that eligibility was never an issue. Maybe Madtown will believe it now!

You'll have to post what it says, some of us are blocked from that site.
BAsically there's a select few talking about how JM's eligibilty will be flagged by the NCAA because he took 2 online classes. Oh, and some of them can't seem to understand that he had a 3.7 his senior year not that he finished his High school career with a 3.7. It was mentioned a few times that he'll be flagged because his GPA rose from a 1.8 to a 3.7. To be fair, some of the other posters tried to explain this.
In the end I have to say that most of the posters were very cordial and wished him success but the other 10-20% basically gave him a typical Abe-like underhand compliment.

I have heard it was three classes. The grades went from F's to A's when taken online from an independent company. Would you want the NCAA to take a closer if it were a Calapari recruit under similar circumstances?

Not saying you're wrong ... but I'd love to know how you claim to know this.

Not if your IP is banned. BM hasn't cared for me for about 8 years now. :)

The NCAA is going to take a look at it, if they hadn't done so already, as part of the clearinghouse process. Many school districts use such internet based classes in lieu of regular classes for many of their students. As long as he gets no special favors, and the Madison schools consider them legit, there is no problem here.
I'm surprised that the badger fans talk so much crap about these young men. I don't care if they're our recruit or a recruit for UW@Madison or Louisville or anywhere else; these young men are trying their hardest to excel at both school and at the highest level of athletics. That's no easy accomplishment.
I can see why Vander Blue took offense didn't particularly care for how he was being treated by their fan-base.

Wisconsin-madison fans love to take shots at Madison kids that don't drink the kool-aid (Wesley, Vander, Maymon, Gaines, etc). And they're more than willing to take shots at the kids families as well.

I agree, and I know from personal experience that Marquette fans are extremely respectful of opposing player's family members.

We didn't say your kid cheated Mrs Haragody, we just asked that your beauty not be shared with a televised audience.

I am offended!
Haven't the mods installed a filter to keep platypuses from creating an account and commenting on the board? Especially those that cannot take criticism about the width of their beak? Sheesh!
Dear Mrs Harangody,
Your Son is the definition of an Ogre and I cannot wait to see our versitle front court shut down your son's lucky shots that he seems to just throw up and some how they drop.

You seriously don't expect me to name sources? It makes sense that they would know. The detail provided about how the courses work only strengthened the credibility of the info.

Agreed. The classes are approved by the Madison school district. What will jump out at the NCAA is the improvement over the initial grade. Similar to a big jump in an ACT score.

Mrs. H can't help that she doubles for Susan Boyle. Quite different then having threads upon threads and posts upon posts talking about the parents of those recruits that dared to reach beyond Madison's red curtain.
If Mrs. H proved to have Susan Boyle's pipes, then she'd get a little more respect from me. But she'd still be an ogre's mother so not too much.

If I didn't try to do well in HS and just coasted, and then buckled down my senior year I bet it would have looked about the same.
why is everyone quick to assume that these kids are stupid, and not just lazy?
