I'm sure most are aware that your seats can be shifted to maximize capacity. Well, one of my seats got shifted to an obstructed view that historically has never sold!!! We were the first to obtain seats in the row and left the obstructed seat open. Later someone else bought 2 tickets, leaving the other obstructed seat open on their end. That left 3 seats in the middle of the row open. So, I check back today and some awesome person wanted 4 seats in the middle so they called in a favor and shifted our tickets down to the obstructed seat. The kicker is when I called up to straighten this out, the operator confirmed that the ticket they shifted us down to was in fact obstructed!!! He offered to push us back several rows even though we were the first to take tickets AND had the most tickets in the row. This is TOTAL CRAP!
EDIT: Pushing back 6'3", 6'4", and 6'7" guys from front row seats with leg room to ZERO leg room seats. That's wrong.
Yeah, the system is not ideal. I just happened to notice some joker in section 204 who chose 2 seats, but left a single seat on the aisle open. Fairly clever actually, because now he can reasonably assume there will be an empty aisle seat next to them most of the time. Clever, but also pretty weak. I would kinda hope they would force them to move down since it also left 5 seats open in the middle and his motivation is fairly obvious. Just another example of someone willing to work the system because he feels he is more important than other people.
I will leave open the possibility that he left it open for a buddy with a later time who wants to maintain his own season ticket account, though I have my doubts.
BTW, I think you have a legitimate complaint if it went as you say it did...

I'd push him on it and see what can be done.
I'm with you, DomJames. The system is based on first come, first served. The special request for 4 tickets, if it materially screws you, should have been denied. Marquette should set this right and give you your seats back.

Just went back for another look around...looks like MU already made the adjustment.

What actually happened was the seat was left open on the end of the aisle and whomever monitors the seating thought that we were getting cute with leaving an open seat to be available during the season. They shifted us over. The first guy acknowledged that the end seat was in fact obstructed. Regardless, they rectified the situation. I highly recommend checking your seats periodically for shifts. If I had not, there would have been little recourse.
One MAJOR red flag I have drawn from the no interaction online seating is the complete absence of "obstructed view" labeling. I know of quite a few obstructed seats and they were not noted anywhere........the last 2 seasons I sat behind the bench and they were obstructed by the players standing up for literally half the game. I was aware of this before I got them from the ticket rep at the AL. I don't think people got the memo this time around.......they were gone way before I picked this year.
Anyhow, I am alright with how things worked out now. However, had I not checked up on my seats, I would've been in for one HELL of a surprise!.

That's not exactly true, they do have obstructed view labeling for some of them. When you scroll over a seat, if it says "seatback" that means the view is fine. But quite a few say "slightly obstructed view due to railing"
How can any of the seats at the BC be 'obstructed'?

Railings in this case. The past 2 seasons my tickets were obstructed by players standing up. Behind the bench sounds good, but in actuality, half of the game had to be viewed on the jumbotron. When I got those tickets the rep warned they were obstructed......I don't think that happened this time around.
