pretty nice looking place, like the visible skyline
I walked around the outside of the stadium in April and it looks really great. I have no affiliation to the Gophers but I'm really tempted to drive up there for a game because that stadium kicks a$$.
I can't wait. 91+ days away before kick off. It looks very impressive... the construction went well.. the only real issue still outstanding is beer sales -- there is a lot of 'premium seating' which carries a hefty, hefty price tag.. if you seat there, the plan was you'd have access to a spot that sells beer.
A bill was signed into law recent that says, "make it available to all or none"... the University's president's vote is "none", but I believe there is a formal vote at the school later this month. Hopefully they serve beers everywhere in the stadium.. I get thirsty sometimes. (at the Metrodome - off campus - there has always been beer sales to everyone of age).
Anyone in MN know what the current situation is with the Vikings' new stadium? From what I've read, I know that the Vikings would probably use TCF as a temporary home were they to get a new stadium in downtown Minneapolis.
With the Twins moving out, is a Metrodome renovation a possibility as well?
I'm going to have to talk to my Dad (a TCF exec) to see if we can get up there for a game in the fall so we can check out the place. And hopefully drink beers in the premium seats 8-)
I was there in May. The field is in place. Looks ready to go. It will certainly not be the biggest Big Ten football venue, but I think it will a great experience. Good bars nearby, some parking. Still waiting to hear what time they assign for the UW-Minn game. If they want to curb drinking, they'll make it an 11:00 am start.
The U's Board of Regents today voted against allowing any beer in the stadium. I'm totally selling my season tickets, dudes.
That is an amazing stadium!
However, I prefer the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles from Coach.
