Title: Recruits at Marquette
Post by: BostonBaller on June 10, 2009, 08:27:04 PM
So I work at the ambassador Hotel and this past weekend we had about 30 or so recruits staying under the marquette basketball account. I talked to a couple recruits all seemed real nice but noticed a lot of SF's and met one guy from Buffalo who grew up with Lazar and was being recruited by BC, V-Tech, South Florida to name a few. Just wondering if anyone heard any news about who was there and what the recruits were looking like, I know most were for 2010 but a couple JC as well.

Ambassador?  Nice, that should impress 'em.  Does the best player get Dahmer's room?

(You might not know .. the Ambassador underwent a multi-million dollar renovation.  It's a very nice art-deco hotel .. location, notwithstanding.)

I agree.  I stayed at the Ambassador one night a few years ago when there was nothing else available downtown and it was amazingly nice.

Do they still have the Jeffrey Dahmer victim dismemberment room?

the Ambassador is super, and they keep doing more; bought up more of the block to build a parking structure.  Their brunch is great before a game, and then their shuttle back and forth is nice, with a 'cool-down' in the bar after.  The rooms are great, and I'm sure the MU recruits get the best.  Owner is a warrior, and booster of MU.

To answer the original question, I believe everyone was their for Buzz's camp.  Here's the list courtesy Todd Rosiak's latest blog...

QuoteWilliams was in a good mood Saturday as he and the rest of his staff held the first of two Specialty Camps scheduled for this summer.

Attended by almost 40 high-school players from the Classes of 2010 and 2011, it was a chance for MU's brain trust to get an up-close and personal look over a two-day span at a number of prospects that have and will continue to be on the recruiting radar.

Among those in attendance was Aaron Bowen, one of two oral commitments in the Golden Eagles' 2010-'11 class. I'll break him down in a minute.

But first, here's the list of attendees, broken down by the teams to which they were assigned:

Team 1
Jerome Hunter, Chanse Creekmur, Darell Longstreet, Wayne Blackshear, D.J. Peterson, Darius Howell.

Team 2

Kevin Noreen, John Maklin, Reggie Smith, Derek Cook, Kevin Powell, Harris Roberts.

Team 3

Cinmeon Bowers, Aaron Bowen, Corbin Collins, Rajan Muhammad, Shane Southwell, Terry Whisnant, Jelan Kendrick.

Team 4

Quevyn Winters, Mike Shaw, C.J. Malone, Tony Benford Jr., Charles Lee, Jamail Jones.

Team 5

Phillip Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Davontay Grace, Troy Huff, Preston Ross, Hakim Stampley.

Team 6

Donnell Harris, Devince Boykins, Jayvaughn Pinkston, Paul Jesperson, Jay Canty, Elgin Cook.

Sadly, I didn't gind out the answer to that question.
