After missing an opportunity to redshirt Fulce and Otule, will Buzz redshirt anyone this year? I can't really blame Buzz for not redshirting his only two front court reserves. It is a tough call for an inexperienced coach. But, will he redshirt Mbao or Roseboro? Or anyone else?
Also, does anyone know when those types of decisions are made?
If anyone Roseboro might be a potential candidate but it really is something that cannot be determined at this point I don't think.
I wouldn't if I were Buzz. We are deeper than we were last season but we have no clue who will show up. Because I think there COULD be quite a few players of equal quality, we could see Buzz going with players that are hot or had a good week in practice. I don't know if it would be wise to redshirt anyone this season, barring injury. I can't wait for the reports.

Those decisions are generally not made until the season actually starts, and a redshirt can be pulled at any time if needed.
Really is a judgement call on how good the player will be as a fifth year senior. It makes no sense to redshirt a player that might go pro early. A bigman like Mbao will be more valuable as a fifth year senior then he will be as a freshmen. However, because of his size, if he has any ability at all he might be in the pros before he uses his fifth year. On the flip side you do not want to redshirt a player that you feel you can replace with a better player. In that case if Mbao is not very good you do not want to redshirt him anyways.
