MU a 3 seed. He does not have WVU in yet, one of the last teams out. Also has Louisville out at this point.
5 out of 16 is a poor percentage. That's going to be one of the problems with this current Big East set up. It is going to cost its members bids occasionally. I don't have time to check, but I'd wager that it's been a long time since only 5 of the current 16 teams in the Big East made the tournament. Same was true of CUSA. I think the old GMC plus Metro teams got more bids than the CUSA conglomerate. Putting all the good teams together makes them stand out less.
But I think when the dust settles we'll get 6 (MU, Pitt, Georgetown, Notre Dame, and two from WV, Syracuse, Louisville, Providence and Nova).
I think the Big 10 may get to 5, too. I think UW, OSU, MSU and Indiana will be in for sure, and maybe Illinois or Michigan or somebody will do enough to get in, too.
big east will get at least 7. the 4 guarantees you stated, and then louisville, cuse and nova. they have the most preferable remaining schedules...
I think we will get 7. The ACC will drop 1 or 2 that they currently have in there. The Big 12 or Pac Ten is also in danger of potentially losing one.
7 in a "down year", I'll take every time.
