Novak with 6 points tonight in 12 minutes against Philly.
Yeah...but the Rockets were up by nearly 30 in the first half.
Damn Van Gundy!!! Give the man some PT!!!!
TMac loves him but Van Gundy's the one w/ the say right now, but if Novak gets some playing time, he'd be one of the biggest 3 pt threats in the league right now...he's gotta do his part during practices, which i'm sure he's been doing, to try and break into the lineup more. maybe miami should trade kapono for him...lol, wouldn't that be great to see wade and novak on the court together, and Miami does need a healthy pt guard so Wade could play the 2 position...Orlando has a few pretty good ones....how bout all three of them on the team together!? GO MARQUETTE ALUM!! slightly wishful thinkin on my part though ;)
I read the Van Gundy said that Novak is a terrific shooter but can't do anything else. While I would like to see him succeed and scan the box scores every night, I think there's a lot of truth in what VG says.
there is truth to that statement by VG, but some teams just need someone they can dish it to after penetrating or just finding someone open on the wing, plus his senior year he showed that he can grow in other parts of his game. He was a better defender and a better rebounder. So he can improve on these areas but it is true he's a pure shooter...but frankly, lots of teams have someone like that, most of them are just 5 inches shorter. :)
So, will he be invited to participate in the All Star game 3 point contest?

I'm not sure he deserves to be in the 3 pt contest after getting beat by a girl last year. ;)
If you're not going to play the guy, TRADE HIS BUTT!!!
There are teams out there that need the help! *cough*Miami*cough*
Basketball seems to me like a game that can quickly pass you by. Guys like Van Gundy and Brown are so stuburnly old school that they miss out on some real talent. Look at Brown. For the Olympics, he had Wade, James and Anthony on the bench because he's a veteran guy. Yeah, how'd that work out?
As long as Novak plays for Van Gundy, he's buried on the bench.
Novak is also buried as the Rockets are using Luther Head as their 3-point specialist. As long as that situation continues, a trade may be the best solution for Novak. But it's hard to believe that once Yao comes back, that using Novak as an outlet for both Yao and McGrady would not benefit this team.
VG has no idea how to coach Novak. Novak would be better off playing everyday in Europe. Novak cant crreate for himself, so he needs set plays and screens. That doesnt flow with 95% of NBA teams
i (sarcastically, but truthfully) understand the NBA game of selfishness and individualism. however, how can someone as valuable in college as novak just disappear off the radar in the "L". Someone like Novak is about as valuable a player as possible in college, referring especially to his senior year. I mean, honestly, who shoots nearly perfect from the charity stripe and close to fifty percent from downtwon? thats absurd
