CLASS OF 2011 INTRO: DRE HENLEY
Chicago's Henley Continues to See Stock Rise
by Doug Ferguson
The Class of 2011 in the city of Chicago is nothing short of loaded. De La Salle swingman Dre Henley has been a bit overshadowed amongst his peers. Not only does he play on the same high school team as the top 2011 prospect in the state of Illinois, Mike Shaw at De La Salle, but the city has several other Top 50 national prospects.
Henley's hype is beginning to grow in droves, along with his body and his game. Henley's father says the mail continues to pour in. He received an offer from Kentucky, however that was before the coaching change. Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas and Marquette are among several major schools with a close eye on his development. If this past year is any indication of how the development is progressing, they will be very pleased.
Henley has sprouted to around 6-foot-7 already but has the ability to play guard if he wanted. In an age where mid-range games are few and far between, Henley's is very well developed, especially for someone who has played just two years of high school ball. His offense also flourishes by bu hitting the offensive glass and scoring on putbacks. He is a great 'instinctive' rebounder. He doesn't always box out well but he always seems to be in good rebounding position.
Most of all, Henley is a mismatch nightmare on both ends due to his size and skill set. His versatility gives him the ability to choose how he wants to disesct his opponent. He also has a very easy going attitude and seems to have a genuine love for the game. All of this leads one to believe that his position on the national radar will only grow in the future.

Looks like Webster recruited and offered him while at UK. Now, DePaul's probably got an inside track.
Oh man, I love the mid range game. Was a little disappointed that McNeal got away from his a bit this year. Would love to have Henley on board...that De La Salle team with Shaw will be loaded next year.
Check out the dunks from Team Flight Brothers on the Youtube videos that follows. Incredible how high these guys get.
