Liam was lifting at the rec plex today which leads me to believe things aren't looking good. The bball players have the AL to lift at, so I was very curious as to why he would be lifting at the rec plex.

He was sick of checking out the Women's Basketball team and wanted some
different eye-candy. ;)
Thanks for the catch Hards!!

I think him lifting at all would be a good sign ?-(
But I highly doubt that IF Liam can no longer play ball, that Buzz would banish him from the AL.

fixed.
I agree with the two most recent post, as I would highly doubt they would ever take away his right to work out at the AL.
I would think seeing Liam doing any form of cardio would bode well for our hopes to see him in a uniform next year. Weight lifiting rarely raises your heart rate to levels comparable to intense/moderate cardio, unless he was doing circuit training. Either way its good to see the guy is in good health and see his current or past condition isn't keeping him out of the gym.
He's a happy-jolly Canadian.......I say we keep him. Eh?

You can only blame one, if Liam is indeed injured.

Has anyone ever seen a Marquette athlete, let alone a basketball player in one of the Rec Centers. In my three years here I haven't ever seen any of them. I have seen Trend and Lott in the Rec Center after they have graduated from the team, but never anyone actually still on the team.
Why doesn't someone just ax him what's going on when they see him?
cat must want to be doing pilates or sumthing. 4ever leads the 2 pm class every tuesday.
Last year I saw half the team, mostly reserves, walking from the Rec Center with basketballs and the strength coachs. I'm assuming they came from there instead of the old gym, although I never actually saw them walk out. I highly doubt they would keep him from the Al. Maybe since the other guys used up their eligibilty there is rules about not using certain facilities. I highly doubt they would take away that right for Liam until the last possible moment.
I used to see Tommy Brice working out at the Rec Center when I was a senior in '06. I can't believe it was because he didn't have access to the Al, so maybe some players just like it better there.
I asked him why he wasn't at the Al today and he said that the Al only has free weights, if he wants to do any machines he has to go to the Plex/Center. Also, he said that during "off-season" the weight room has to be closed on certain days.

Yes, a couple of times. Each time it was about 5 or 6 players in the weight room at the Rec Center. I know one time was about 9 am on a Saturday morning, so there really wasn't anyone else there.
Also, him being allowed to lift away from the watchful eyes of the MU training staff makes me more confident than I was before that Liam McMorrow is not dead or dying, which everyone on this board seems convinced of.
I really do hope Liam is around next year!! The dude is a giant, he made me feel like a dwarf just standing within 15 feet of him
Even if Liam was transferring or unable to play he would still be able to work out at the Al. Last year after Scott Christopherson announced he was transferring to ISU he still lifted at the Al basically every day.
Also, players go to the Plex and Center more often than you think. I used to go to the Center and shoot around with Scott a couple times a week last year. This year I saw Wesley and Fulce go to the Center. Lately the coaching staff has gone to the Plex a lot, and almost always they bring 1 player and they go up and play racket ball. That must be their favorite workout. I've been working there when they have brought in Jimmy Butler and Wesley Matthews. Heard about others having done the same thing.

I saw Glenn "Doc" Rivers in the rec center durng my time at MU.
Maybe he didn't wanna walk all the way to the AL? Sure it's just a few blocks, but it's chilly outside.
But then again, Liam would just have to take a dozen steps from Humphrey and BAM he's at the AL...but why take a dozen steps when he could just take 2?
Very nice guy, that Liam. I hope he stays too cuz word...that'd be kinda sick, but obviously someone has to go.
I saw Travis Diener shooting some threes in the recplex once. It was after the season ended his senior year. Man was he draining them!

I saw him there too which a bunch of players playing like 3 on 3. Players at the plex... pretty uncommon but not a bad sign.
on a side note... I got dunked on by Towns and it was the best moment of my life.
Jimmy Mac brought a glass backboard down on my head at the rec center my senior year. I still have a piece of it -- not in my head, though.

I saw Burke lifting alone at the Rec Center a bunch of times last semester. He was doing some pretty basic stuff like curls though and definitely no Olympic lifts.
I've heard from a very reliable source that Liam has a rare Canadian strain of the swine flu.

6 Canadians have died from the swine flu! how can u be so insensitive to our neighbors to the north when they're dropping like flies?
ZFB/EAT/4EHT can safely confirm that he never saw any players in the rec center/plex when he was in school, as he never did that sort of activity.

i played with Tony Miller, Damon Key and Ron Curry and some others one day at the Rec. Somehow I got left on the baseline as curry dropped stepped dunked on me and miller turned to me (all 5'10" of freshmen) and said "dude play some post defense!" Then he laughed at the other end.
