Title: Lakers vs. Cavs
Post by: mu-rara on April 24, 2009, 10:29:20 AM
I am so tired of this matchup becoming a forgone conclusion, I find myself hoping that one of these teams won't make it to the Finals.

Anybody with me?

I hope both teams lose, but...I would rather the Cavs get there as opposed to the Celtics.   I am sick of the Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots, etc.  And before anybody chimes in with the "people always hate winners," I am just sick of hearing about the Boston teams.

And on a related NBA topic... How do opposing teams not just double Wade everywhere he goes? He was insane on Wednesday night, and Atlanta refused to double him.  Oh well.

I'd rather hear about the Celtics than LBJ and his "supporting cast" (his words).  He gets enough time.

That's my beef with "King" James.  Man, is he overdone.

Seems like a good guy, good teammate, funny, hard working, but way overexposed.

Was Michael Jordan overexposed?

MJ was nowhere near as exposed.

LBJ is nowhere near as good.

The Lakers will win in 5.

It will be almost as ugly as Spurs-Cavs.

MJ was nowhere near as exposed.

LBJ is nowhere near as good.

MJ didn't have for the most part cable TV, ESPN, the internet, blogs...MJ didn't have his HS games televised.  Most of his college game probably weren't on TV either.

I think LeBron has just about lived up to thr hype that is LeBron James, which I think is crazy.  And your quote about not being as good, not exactly fair to compare the two just yet.

Through 6 years in the NBA:

Jordan: 1 MVP, 0 Rings AVG: 31 ppg, 5.5 assists, 6 Rebs
Lebron: 1 MVP*, TBA Rings Avg: 27.5 ppg, 6.7 assists, 7 rebounds

* If he wins it this year

And LeBron has three years on him since he came straight from HS

And yes, I know there is more to a player than just a few stats, but both are defense stoppers, I give the edge to Jordan, especially during his title run.  But right now I give the offensive edge to LeBron since he can play and does play the 1-4 at any one time.  LBJ still needs to make that jumper consistent, but Jordan didn't develop his long range shot until a little bit later into his career.

If LeBron gets his rings, I think it will at least be debateable who is the 2nd best player of all-time behind Larry Bird   ;D
