Considering how they have no assistants, Ponsetto essentially tried to railroad Wainwright out of town, they have a medicore at best recruiting class coming in, and Koshwal still might jump to the NBA (he's already 22 I believe, so his clock is running), I don't know how much worse things could get there.

It'd be nice to have them twice again next year...pad the ole' win column by 2!

wow absolute nuclear meltdown of the program.  now granted Dar is really good and DJ and Jerel did just fine declaring but one has to wonder if that place was not in such an absolute shambles would he not simply stay and test the waters after next year.  remember you can only test once.

If Koshwal follows suit, the AD may change her mind about Wainwright?  Ouch.

Koshwal has already declared.  Unlike Tucker, he has not yet hired an agent.

I'd predict a meltdown on WeAreDePaul.com but most of their users stopped caring quite awhile ago.

Who told him this was a good idea? I mean hiring an agent?  He is currently the 11th pick in the second round for NEXT years mock draft on nbadraft.net.  I can understand testing the waters and getting an idea on what to work on, but throwing a good opportunity to showcase your talents while having little or no responsibility?

Went to numerous depaul games this last year...my bud is a season ticket holder.

Most popular phrase heard at All State Arena this last year -
"At least things can't get worse".  WRONG!

One thing Wainwright can do is throw around lots of playing time.

If he secured the best Chi-town and IL talent, he could have a team that could pride themselves as "Chi-town's Finest" and it'd carry forth in his recruiting and provide a couple years of job security.

Though I like to see Marquette's rivals go down, this one is kinda of tough because it's one of the long-lasting rivalries in college basketball.

This has not been a rivalry for more than a decade.  If my math is right, MU has beaten DP 29 of the last 35 times the teams have played.

That's no rivalry.

True, but he won't get any CPL kids since he refuses to play the "game", unlike Kennedy did when he got Richardson, Simmons, Hunter, Simmons, etc. in the late 1990s.

Also, what top player would be willing to play for a program where the coach is essentially a dead man walking, and EVERYONE knows it seemingly except him?

The only reason Wainwright is not gone yet is because DePaul is too damn cheap to actually fire him and pay him the rest of his contract.  Then again, these are the same idiots that gave him an extention after an NIT season in 2007, and decided to give him the Costanza treatment by firing his entire staff but him so he'd quit and they wouldn't have to pay him.

It's sad to see what's happened to DePaul, but frankly, if you're too cheap to make a change after a 1-19 conference season, you deserve to be the laughingstock of the major BCS conference programs.

I think Dar Tucker is an extremely gifted player and could be a potential first round pick with a couple more years of polish. But WTF is he thinking. There isn't any buzz about a kid coming off a 1-19 team.
