"Marcus was looking for a place he could play, have an impact and feel comfortable on campus,'' Slaughter said. "The family felt there was no need to continue the recruiting process.''

One of Jordan's high school friends/teammates, AJ Rompza, started as a freshman down there this year. Probably had something to do with his choice.
And dad can play golf when he visits. ;D

The kid had an offer from Stanford. Why he wouldn't go there is beyond me. He has all the money in the world and if he can play he can play. Why you would turn down Stanford for Central Florida seems short sighted, especially for a kid with his privilege.
During his visit, Marcus mentioned that UCF had a great female to male ratio (7:1). Maybe he is looking for a good college experience.

He took his visit to UCF, and made his commitment announcement with his very good friend and fellow Chicago HS player Nik Garcia. Both of them are very good friends with UCF freshman and former Whitney Young guard AJ Rompza.
Sometimes familiarity makes for the best choice.

And it's right by Disneyworld!!!!!
(I considered UCF, but aside from stellar athletic facilities . . . not my style; although on the other hand, no cold winters, no snow! or snow days . . . dang it! MU wins)
