Anyone remember how his recruiting went and why he didn't end up at Marquette? I know we were mentioned a lot very early on, but I can't remember how/why he ended up at MSU.

I know that it came down to MSU and us, and he committed early in his sophomore year of high school. I think he was considering Illinois too but they didn't offer before he committed to MSU.
He didn't dig Crean and the horse he rode in on. Which is totally understandable, but he'd sure look good in a Warrior uni.

Really? Then why did he consider MU for so long? Sounds like another ill informed, ignorant Crean post.

Considered MU for so long? Lucious verballed as a high school sophomore. Didn't give the departed any more than lip service. Pretty perceptive kid that, Korie.

You couldn't be more wrong.
Many coaches were on to Luscious Lucious even as an 8th grader at Whitefish Bay Middle School. He entertained Crean's overtures just as Jerry Smith did when Crean followed Jerry at Longfellow Middle School. In the end, MU wasn't in the mix as TC was not for Smith as well. Not my opinion, but common knowledge from those closer to the situation.
boy with the way he played in the first half he sure would have done a nice job down the stretch ofr Dj.

Not really. He is a small 2G. Not reaally a PG at all from what I saw seeing him play in person several times. Still, he would have been a nice get.
Decent player...didn't quite live up to the hype once he transferred to Pius.

You might want to check with those close to the situation again, because the decision had nothing to do with not liking TC.

He went to MSU because of Dwayne Stephens. He had been involved in recruiting him the longest, first when he was with Marquette, then when he went back home to MSU. His mother wanted him to go wherever Stephens was because she felt that Dwayne would take care of and look after her son, and it was more her choice than Korie's. Had Stephens still been at MU when he made his decision, or had he taken a head job elsewhere, Lucious would not have gone to MSU.
And that's straight from the source.
BMA, appreciate all of your insights, thanks.

Ever since he left, our program has nosedived in the big men department.
So how old is Stephens? Head coaching material sooner rather than later?

I believe he's 36 or 37 and Izzo thinks he will be a head coach in the near future. Also, he was ranked in Jeff Goodman's top 20 High-Major assistant coaches last May:

We also had 3 guys ahead of Lucious, named Mcneal, James and Matthews.
And then there is the little detail about his AAU coach. Where did he end up?
