Well, for those of you saying Bennett couldn't recruit, Xavier Thames is considering Marquette now that Bennett has left for Virginia.

Difference is at WSU he was Bennett's prized recruit. At MU he would be the fourth best guard in the class and 6th or 7th best player overall.
We have no chance if Wazzou gets The Legend.
Is UCLA really interested in him, or is that just his coach promoting him? Obviously if the Bruins really wanted him, that would give me greater hope for his upside.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just found it kind of funny.
Isn't he a 2009 recruit? If so, and we did signed him, wouldn't that put us two over the limit?
That would mean someone other than often-mentioned Hazel would not be returning next year. If that someone is McMorrow (because health issues), the question becomes would you rather have Xavier Thames or McMorrow. Based on what I've seen, I'd rather have McMorrow.
In other words, to sign Thames we would have to subtract someone. Most of the rumours subtractions seem better or have more upside that Thames.
Day late and a dollar short, we are not gonna sign him.
Funny that Rivals mentions Wazzou, Santa Clara, St. Mary's (CA), Colorado, Iowa State, Oregon State, SDSU, and UNLV along with Marquette, but MU's the ONLY school that hadn't tendered a schollie.
I think it may be better for him to stay in the WCC or WAC. He'll get immediate playing time and have a chance to shine.
