One less school for the Darius Smith sweepstake.

Figured he might have drawn it out a little longer, but in the end, he ended up going to an ACC school in North Carolina, just like 99% of the experts had predicted.

If Memphis lands John Wall, take them out of the Darius Smith sweepstakes too.

I always like the good players playing for the more unknown teams like Steph and Seth.  He will have some competition at Duke and I hope he can keep his game up there in a tougher conference and more skilled team, but I'm sure he can.  Would have liked to keep seeing him light it up at Liberty though :)

Get the best players into the best conferences and lets see what they can do.  Stephen Curry may well be great, but with the exception of the NCAA tournament last year, there is not enough evidence to really judge his body of work.

That's one of the reason's the Big East is so great, you can see who shines against the best competition.  I hate Duke, but I'm looking forward to seeing how Seth does.

I've got to think Memphis's recruiting will slow down until Cal says definitively what he's doing.  If Cal leaves Memphis, that conference will have absolutely nothing.

One problem with all this is if CAL goes to Kentucky he may recruit Smith as well.

Absolutely true.  Does anyone know what KY's scholarship situation is?  Cal has always been a monster recruiter.  I really can't imagine what he'd be able to do with his recruiting skills and Kentucky's resources.  It would be a very interesting situation.

What a shocker......I hope for nothing but the best for this kid but words can never describe how much I dislike (i.e. hate) Duke.  Worst fans, and its as if they are excluded from being called on a plethora of fouls.

UK's scholarship situation is a mess.  They only lose one senior, Jared Carter.  They have three players signed to LOI with a fourth that was planning on signing in April.  They were also still recruiting Darius Smith, Eric Bledsoe, Vee Sanford and several others prior to BCG being fired.

Supposedly Deandre Liggins and AJ Stewart want out regardless of the coach.  Supposedly Donald Williams was informed before he committed that his scholly was only for one year and he'll either be a walk on or transfer elsewhere.  Supposedly Michael Porter will be graduating and may go to grad school full time. etc etc.

The reality is, no one knows where the scholarships are going to come from yet, regardless of who the coach is.
